My client does send an Echo

hi having a problem where if i use voice activation anything that i just played back through my soundcard activates my mic so if someone speaks on the channel there is feedback even with my headphones in and nothing coming out of the speakers the voice activation still triggers when someone else speaks, any idea how to fix this, currently having to use push to talk which isnt ideal for my situation. thanks

ps im using a desktop mic with headphones to avoid background noise, on a realtek sound card

Prevent the output device from sending voice data to your input device.
This can be done by accessing the voice settings of your operating system/sound card.

When using headphones does the problem persist? In other words, is the issue coming from the mic picking up sound from the speakers or is it a configuration issue?

    Mute your Speakers in Windows:
Left Click the Speaker Icon next to the Clock in the Systray.
Left Click the Blue Speaker Icon in the Speaker Section of the Popup to mute your Speaker Output.
In TS3 go to Settings -> Options -> Capture -> Begin Test (with Voice Activation selected)
The indicator bar shouldn't move much (unless you are making noises, eating your mic, Speaking etc)
Enable your speakers again (See above).
If the bar moves more than about 5-10 ticks without you making noises, your Speakers are too loud or your mic too sensitive. (FIx this first in the Windows Sound Settings)
Click inside the bar about 5 ticks right of the moving bar.
make sure the moving bar doesn't get above the Indicators you just placed by clicking in the bar, but does go over it when you speak.
once satisfied hit Stop Test and Apply.

My experience with users showed me, that not all headset do work as they should.
Some headsets send feedback directly through the hardware.
Some users turn up their volume to high and the headphone speakers are to loud and the result is, that the microphone does capture the sound from the speakers.

anyone interested in my solution i enabled stereo mix, disabled it again then with trial and error disabled the microphone and enabled it again while messing with the default input a few times, these seems to have worked, maybe a bug with my soundcard or teamspeak and drivers itself i dont know.

Erm, Teamspeak does use, what your driver delievers. We do not make any settings in your soundcard. We only use Windows 7 features, for loudness of programs. But nothing else.
