Hi! i'm italian and i've a problem with ts3: i cannot connect to my clan ts3 server (ts3.timetofrag.com:9996).

I can cannect to TS public and ts3.timetofrag.com too, but the 9996 port is "unreachable"; here are some screens of the ts3 window, client log and cmd (ping and tracert):

What error message do you get? I can connect but get a password dialog.

In ts3.timetofrag.com there are lot of servers.

    ts3.timetofrag.com --> means ts3.timetofrag.com:9987

then, try with ts3.timetofrag.com:9988 --> Must ask you for password

then, try with ts3.timetofrag.com:9991 --> It should ask you for password.

Probably, just a "theory", you'll be asked for password with :9988 and you'll get error with :9991

In this case... I think is something with your ISP provider and ports 999x (or your security software and ports 999x but if other users have the same issue maybe the provider...)

Ok. In port 9992 no server is present.

In port 9996 is your server but you can't access. it.
Then, it seems not to be related with the ts3 client.

I've found this information about port 9996 (really Mister Google did it):
    http://www.pc-library.com/ports/tcp-udp-port/9996/

It seems this number has 'bad feeling' or 'bad vibrations'.

    Then...
    a) something in your security software, or router, is blocking the access to a remote 9996 port

    b) something in your ISP provider is doing the block

    c) maybe, if you comment the issue with your TS3 hoster... if he could change the port for your server... other number different from 9996

Maybe another user could give you better guidance.

    well,

    a) disabled firewall in the router, disabled windows firewall, changed router with a second one but nothing
    b) i think so....
    c) i can't do this, the server isn't mine.....

Does the issue continue? --> you can't access to servers working on port 9996.

Have you tried with other PC?

    Any answer from your ISP?

Well, I can't see the image... "You don't have permission to access /7/8/0/2/6/0/5/1342788242.png on this server."

I've just tried to connect to your server of interest (using the cname)
    18/09/2012 22:06:43 ClientUI Info Resolve successful: 217.199.3.238:9996
and it asks me for password.

Have you tried to connect using 217.199.3.238:9996 instead of the name : port?
In theory the result must be the same but ... ---> Sorry, you already answered in post#3

Note1: There are others threads with, apparently, the same issue with port 9996

    Note2:
    As I've commented in post#9...
I've found this information about port 9996 (really Mister Google did it):
    http://www.pc-library.com/ports/tcp-udp-port/9996/

    and specially this paragraph:
    Code:
The port 9996 is also the default port for the transmission of NetFlow Analyzer data. ...

The TCP 9996 also functions as an alternative to port 8080 in accessing the NetFlow Analyzer (NFA) web interface. NFA is a Web-based application that monitors bandwidth and network traffic patterns using Cisco NetFlow analysis and flow systems.
guides me to think, again, that this port can be "reserved" by your Internet Service Provider.

In this link Port 9996 appears related with netflow:
    http://www.solarwinds.com/search/net...6-or-2055.aspx

altough wikipedia points to UDP 9995:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetFlow

    I think that ports 2055, 9955, 9995 and 9996 look bad for a TS3 server.
