Port 9987 Problems
Hello, I have successfully set up ports 30033 and 10011 for my Teamspeak 3 server. However, Port 9987 is being stubborn and is refusing to open. I have tried using a range of ports(9986-9988), turning off Windows Firewall, and using UDP only instead of TCP/UDP, but to no avail.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Let me guess, you are using some online port checking tool like a webpage and it says 9987 is closed? If so that's normal, they cannot check UDP Ports. Just use the TS3 Client to connect to the Server. If you are in the same Network as the Server make sure to use the internal IP as your Router will most likely refuse to connect to the external one. Everyone else will have to use the external IP.

I tried that, all I got was:
<20:55:42> Trying to connect to server on 192.168.1.13
<20:55:48> Failed to connect to server
I also got the same on another computer that wasn't on my network:
<23:52:24> Trying to connect to server on 67.164.21.45
<23:52:30> Failed to connect to server
The only way I am able to connect to it is by using localhost in the server address bar.Last edited by Russ1544; 24-07-2012 at 05:12.

Hey - the 192.168.1.13 being a LAN IP means that no router configuration should take any effect here. If you run the client on the same computer as the server it essentially is the same as localhost (except maybe for some firewall rules that differentiate here?). I'd check the firewall if I were you, maybe disable it for a test.

The only firewall I use is Windows Firewall, but I tried to disable it to no avail.

What does client log 3.0.8 say, when you try your LAN IP?
This is a network error, so there must be anything wrong.
Maybe another network card has an higher priority . like hamachi as an example.---------------------------------------------------------
