    Hello

You can use a server group for that, e.g. :

    - Create a new server group : Mute
    - In this special group set these permission :
    • b_group_is_permanent Checked
    • i_client_talk_power, value = -1, check Negated
    • b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions Checked

When you want mute a user, just add this user in this special group

Everytime I try to create, it says ERROR: SOME PERMISSION CANNOT BE APPLIED.

My own server won't even let me edit it even though i'm in the server admin group.

I just looked at a youtube video, and I do not have as many options on the server groups as the other person, help?

You need to enable the advanced permissions first.

    Global mute?

We have not quite adequate player, who always speaks in microphone and often prevents us from normal raiding. We can't ban him on server because he should listen our raid leader but shouldn't speak himself. Is the possibility to mute him globally (nobody can hear him) and forever? I know, there's function to mute him individually by each player but it's not solution for us.

How can I globally mute a client?

Sometimes a client will just be a chatterbox and say inappropriate things. Can he be muted from all channels? Or at least from our main channel? If so how?

Assign to this client for i_client_talk_power a negative value.

Create a Group "Muted" either Server (if you want that client to be muted on the entire Server) or as a Channelgroup (for just the Channel that you assign them the group in). Assign an i_client_talk_power of -20 to that group.

If you want to mute someone just assign him the muted group and he won't be able to talk unless explicitly given talk power.
