[Beta Channel] TeamSpeak 3 Client 3.0.9

Version 3.0.9 of the TeamSpeak Client is available for testing in the beta channel.

Most notable for testing would be the new configuration, which was moved from plain ini files to a new SQL database format. On first start after upgrading, the client would automatically convert existing ini files to the new SQL database settings.db and make a copy of all converted files in the backups folder.
Of course, we would be most interested to know if anything goes wrong with this conversion.

Besides that, we would be happy if you report any other problems you might encounter with this beta version.

  have to be reassigned.

+ Added bookmarkmanager context menu "sort by name".
* After deleting an offline message the next message will be selected.
* Moved possible existing serverquery authlogin and authpassword from 
  ts3clientui_qt.conf to ts3clientui_qt.secrets.conf.

* Chat character counter always located left of newsticker.
* Client drag&drop improvements.
* Added -silent commandline parameter to package installer.

* Modified tree behaviour to avoid scrolling up/down constantly on crowded
  servers.
* Modified chat scrolling behaviour to keep the chat textoutput in place when
  new messages arrive while being scrolled up or having text selected.
* Added [hr] bbCode support to channel description.
* Added save and restore last ban reason when banning a client.
* Added offline subject and message character limit.
* When dropping many files into chat line the drop text will be just cut off at
  the end because of the chat line limit. When dropping many files into chat
  history and the message length would fit into two separate lines, the drop
  will be accepted. If the drop text is too long it will be ignored.
* Small icons will get extended and centered to at least 16x16.
* Added license display to server info (SERVER_LICENSE for template)
- Fixed context menu in channel description edit.

- Fixed embedding local server banner URL in [IMG] tags is no longer necessary.
  Just drop an image from file filebrowser or type a valid ts3image:// link.

  messages when using unicode and escaped characters.

- Fixed plugin enable/disable checkbox at plastique style.
- Fixed joining servers default channel if bookmarks default channel is full.
- Fixed copying text from info frame if text is formatted with [list] tag.
- Fixed background when dragging files from file browser.
- The offline message dialog can be opened once per server and will act on the
  servers state.
- Fixed upload/download state after resuming a transfer interrupted by error.
- Fixed transfer state after resuming an interrupted transfer and also the
  transferred size.

To update your TeamSpeak client on the beta channel, go to the TeamSpeak 3 Client installation folder and create a file "update.ini" with this content:

Using windows client... I don't know the STRG+F key.

I've tried with CTRL+F
a) if focus on the chat window --> Ok
b) if focus on the server tree window --> any search fails, always red background Note: It doesn't appear the "Marchcase" checkbox.

Suggestion: Maybe "Search" text could be "Tree search" and "Chat Search" for indicating what kind of search it is been applied.

In Germany the CTRL key has STRG on it

Updating worked fine for me, no problems updating the .ini files to the .db

Umm, it's not a problem, it is said it has been removed.

After the update, I have a problem with my soundpack: It is completely ignored. Even if I set it to “Sounds deactivated”, I still get all the default sounds, as if the setting is completely ignored.

also, if u change soundpack female to male, apply button should kick in, on here it stays greyed out. Is this a bug or it should be like that

The soundpack selection works fine to me, from the bookmarks as it used to be. Once the selection is done for the bookmark entry, i reconnect and it works for me: male, female, soundsdeactivated.

Search tree
Fixed and now shows "Search Tree/Chat". Also doing some minor tweaking to reacting on Ctrl+F when the search field is already open right now.

License label in server connection info
Left there by accident, removed. License is shown in server info on the right, that should be enough.

ServerQuery window
That was removed, the upcoming server version does not support this feature anymore.

TSDNS logging
Should be implemented, isn't it?

Soundpacks
This seems to be working properly for me, I see no change to the previous behaviour. I select the soundpack in the bookmark, reconnect and the new soundpack is used. If the bookmark says "Default" soundpack, then the default soundpack as configured in Options/Notifications is used.
If this is not the case, please give us some details so we can reproduce a possibily faulty behaviour. At the moment I cannot see anything going wrong here.

Channel description copy&paste doubling lines
We will look into this. Havn't seen this before, but I can reproduce it with your explanation.

Hotkeys
What has not been mentioned here but we noticed internally after the beta release: Under certain circumstandes hotkeys can get lost or break on conversion from the old ini file to the new SQL database. It can happen if you have a combined up/down hotkey (like generated for PTT key), in some cases the "up" or "down" part can get lost. We are fixing this right now. If you happen to encounter this issue, check your hotkeys and recreate the broken one manually. Or with the next beta release, force import of the settings again (delete settings.db and copy everything from backup folder back to main config folder).
This won't affect everyone, but mentioned here so you know what to look out for if you notice one of your hotkeys is broken.

UPDATE on Hotkeys
The next beta will automatically re-convert your old hotkeys from the ini file in backup/hotkeys.ini. So do not delete the backups folder.
It also means that all changes to your hotkeys done between this and the next beta version will be lost. Sorry for that, but well, that can happen when testing stuff. I suppose everyone using beta software has some understanding that occasionally things may go wrong. :-)

Ah, that was a good hint. In all my bookmarks the soundpack was configured as “Default Soundpack (Female)” instead of just “Default” and as such overwrote what I set in the default settings. After changing all my bookmarks to “Default” it works.

So maybe there is some issue when converting the settings of the bookmarks?
