Missing Codecs?
I recently upgraded to WinXP from Win2k. I was running TS on Win2K and had access to all the codecs when I created a channel. Now that I've upgraded and reinstalled TS (during which it found all the codecs and said that nothing needed to be installed) I only have access to the SPEEX codecs 3.4 - 16.3. I've reinstalled with no luck.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Tim

well if you have the .60 then something else went wrong when installing the codecs. I remember something about a message box telling me to need to be administrator to install them as I installed ts on windows once. I wouldnt know why it didnt install all codecs elsewise :/.
Edit: Not to sound stupid, but maybe you are creating a channel on a server that doesnt permit other codecs ? Its configurable by server what codecs you may choose....Try the "local testmode".You think my answer is stupid ? Read This:

Thanks for the reply. I'm an admin on my WinXP box and it did do the codec search and found them already installed. If they were installed, I'm not sure why they are not showing up.
I was trying to create a channel on your TS3 Public Server. I know that it had all the codecs at one point so I was assuming that it still had all of them. I'll try other servers and see if there is a difference.
Thanks again and I'll keep working at it,
Tim

I just checked other channels on the Teamspeak Public 3 Server. They only have the Speex codecs, so it is the server limiting the codecs allowed. My bad.........................
