TS and commandline
Is it possible to start and login to a TS server from the commandline. Ie specifying a server address, login info and a default channel to connect to, directly in a shortcut on the desktop ?
This would be great as you can autostart and autologin TS at Windows startup.

you can autoconnect to a server by using the following parameter:
Teamspeak.exe [IP]
e.g. if you want to connect to a server running on the same machine:
Teamspeak.exe 127.0.0.1
haven't found out about automated registration/login however... :-/

Well maybe it will be supported in a future release.

After a friend (Thanks Mr_M) spotted the 'browser launch' method in the FAQ, I messed around and found how to launch and connect (with username/password/channel) from the command line or from shortcut.
TeamSpeak.exe "ip.address?nickname=YourNickname?loginname=YourLo ginName?password=YourPassword?channel=ChannelName"

You're welcome
I also had to hunt down the info, we find it highly convenient to be able to make a desktop icon to click on that connects right to the server with username/password and joins the correct channel. I'm sure others would use that ability to!
Thanks for posting the channelpassword info!

Check client manual for webbrowser login as it seems to work for a shortcut too. All options are there.

I created a web shortcut on the desktop with this command line:
teamspeak://IP_or_NAME:PORTifused/?nickname=NickName?loginname=LoginName?password=Ch annelPassword?Channel=ChannelName
Best is to edit this in notepad, so it doesn't wordwrap on ya, then paste it into the link URL
I was unable to locate this in the TS manual.
Tested in XP only.

Look in the client manual, under Menu Connection, then Connect. Scroll all the way down to the bottom.Originally posted by IMplODemE

They threw that into your manual as I was posting this.

My links work, IF I have the room already created on the server.
Is there a way to A) Create a set of channels/subchannels on the server without active clients? such as:
-Server: port
|__ BF1942
| |__Allied
| |__Axis
|
|__FS2002
. |__ Al's Cut Rate FBO comm
. |__ Carrol County Traffic
and/or.... am I missing something on the URL line to create new rooms? I'm not setting up user accounts as we never know who will join... Do I have to be a registered user to force a 'create room' on connection request?
Can someone from the TS team compile a listing of all URL and command line options that are available? It would be a good add on to the manual
Thanks for your helpLast edited by CowboyGuy; 03-05-2003 at 17:18.
