    Problem with only specific client

i looked through these forums briefly to try and find this problem. i didn't find it, so sorry if it's been posted before.

    here's the situation:

teamspeak works great, don't have a problem with it. everyone on there sounds fine, including bob. one day bob sounded aweful on TS2. it was as if he was reporting "live on location" at a hurricane. no one else can hear his problem. i can sometimes hear an echo of other people through other clients (if their headphones don't conceal noise too well and have them turned up) and i changed my recording from "microphone" to "wave" so that i could "playback" what bob's mic sounded like to me. i heard it echo and it sounded fine, even though when i first heard it... it was aweful. everyone else sounds fine, just him. and only for me. no one else has a problem. we can be the only two people in the TS2 server, i tried switching codecs, we've both been in there with no other applicatoins running, tried changing from direct sound to wav. i'm not sure what this could be since it's only ME who hears him bad, and when i send it back to everyone, they don't hear anything wrong with it. and i have changed nothing (nor has he) since it sounded fine. i hope someone has had this same problem and knows how to fix it, because it's even confusing for myself to figure out what's going on.

to answer my own question, i found the solution

i went to play Halo and noticed that EAX wasn't allowed to be enabled. so something told me that EAX wasn't working correctly, once i reinstalled my sound drivers, it worked fine.

i'm still not sure why EVERYONE ELSE sounded fine on teamspeak, and it was only one other client that sounded nasty... i thought for sure it could not have been a sound driver problem, given that everyone else worked just fine. but alas, it was.
