noice
I tested TS with a friend and everything works fine untill he join me in a channel. I get terrible noice and can barely hear what he says. On his end everything is fine. We have both hosted the server but we get the same result. I'm only running TS. No other programs are running that I have control over. If I do a "local test" everything sound fine. I'm using a laptop with a built in soundcard (Sigma Tel C-Major Audio) What ever that is. Never heard of it before.
Any ideas?

make sure to set a decent codec (speex 12kbit or so) for the channel.

We tested GSM 16.4 Kbit. It's not the speech that sounds bad. It's the fact that there is so much background noice even before my friends michrophone was plugged in that it's just barely possible to hear him at all when it was plugged in. We then switched and had him host the server. This did not help.

The problem is more likely on your friends end.
He should check his hardware/mixer settings/sound driver settings.
