No reply from server; Maybe Offline Error
Hello,
A guild mate of mine got us space on a TeamSpeak server somewhere.
He can connect in fine.
I cannot. I did a search for the server, found it and added it to my Local Addresses.
I can PING the server fine.
I have comcast Cable which is pretty decent in my area, probably because I live near the home office. <smirks>
This is a screenshot of what I have entered:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/bigdra...en/teamspk.jpg
I enter in my User Name
I enter in the password. I have done this several times, making it case sensitive and not case sensitive and watching my fingers and slowly typing the password.
I get the following Error:
[13:01:16] Connecting to 207.44.204.56:8016
[13:01:19] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it
HELPPPPPP ! ! !! MEEEEE!!!!

I think your friend set up the TS server behind a NAT device (A router or Microsoft ICS). In this case he has to set up a port forwarding.
Or the router is behind a firewall and in that case he has to open the correct ports.
Look in the FAQ for the ports (I think the server ports are on page 2).
Also do a search for port forwarding. There are many posts about it.

Solved
Thank you for trying to answer.
Actually my friend had signed us up for a TeamSpeak a secure dedicated server on CybeSeals a TS dedicated server provider.
I wrote to their Customer Service, who answered me right away on a Saturday evening. They have 24 hour support and were great to deal with. I highly recommend them
See
http://CyberSEALS.net
The reason for the error was due to the way the TS dedicated server provider has set up their servers.
Oddly when I did a search for our server name by searching using a filter for our guild name, for some reason it showed the IP address of their "main" server which I was not authorized to connect to.
The reason I had done a search by filter is that when I input the correct IP for our "clan", it was giving me a bad user name or password error.
That error was the original problem.
It seems that my friend is the Administrator for our designated server. And he had to ADD our Login names to our dedicated server.
When he used their Admin tool and entered our names and gave us a password. We could access it and utilize teamspeak fine.
Odd though. On one computer I can game on Everquest and use TS fine.
On my supposedly better/faster computer (athlon 1533mhz), with a new Soundblaster Live, people sounded like chipmunks or rather like a cassette tape that had a queing/preview function, extremely fast speed, and I could not understand them.
BUT, they sounded fine on my lesser 1ghz Dell with an Intel motherboard. Same sound card, a Soundblaster live, too on each pc. Each Soundblaster has drivers from 2003.
But that is a topic for a different thread.
Thanks again for trying to answer.
If anyone is utilizing a dedicated server service for TeamSpeak, and they get that error, try to contact their customer service to find out what is going on as far as connectivity issues to their server. Also, make sure you have the CORRECT IP for that server typed in the TS connection interface.
I hope this helps people!
Warmest Regards,
Vdayan
