User Permissions
Is it possible to give a Channel Admin the abitity to move people from one channel to another. I noticed that this ability is listed under registered user but not under Channel Admin. This confuses me. Also I see that egistered users can be given the ability to create channels and such but once again Chanel Admins cannot.
Am I missing something?
I have read through several guides and have searched this forum all without avail...

Well,
ChannelAdmin is a channel specific...this means that some rights arent sensible to have bound to it - for example creating channels....that has nothing to do with any channel admin status...
With moving I *might* aggree with you that it could be useful. My current draft for the changed permissions system allows it for CAs to have the move-player right. You think my answer is stupid ? Read This:

Why can registered users create channels then?
For my situation, I would not like to give someone serveradmin but would like to be able to give them the ability to add registered channels. If you eventually have the ability for more groups and user specific permissions my problems would be solved.
Since that is a ways off, I might have found an unsupported way to let channel admins create registered channels. It probably won't work or will blow up in my face, but I am going to try.

I also think that there is a not channel specific permission group between registred and SA missing.
So you can give some people for example the permission to move people around and to create channels, but not allow them to allow registration or something else.
Currently you can only give some permissions to all rigistred users or you have to give specific users SA rights.
The best thing would be if TS bould have a full group/user based permission system. But thats a bit complax and may be too much work.

Hello,
I'm a very new teamspeak user but I also missed a channel independent user classification between registered user and server administrator. There should be a user class, let's name it server operator or so, which can have all permissions of a server admin. So it would be possible to give some admin permissions to special users (e.g. move players, register players, create registered channel (on my teamspeak server registered uses don't have that permission to prevent chaos) or something else).
Would be fine for one of the next server versions.
Ciao

creating a channel
Okay, so I'm new and I don't want to create a server, I just want to create a channel for my friends and me. How do I get permission?

if you do not have the permission to creat rooms, ask the server admin of the TS server you are using.
Note, not all TS server allow their user to create own rooms !
