Help with D-Link Router
I have a D-Link Router and it comes with a firewall...the firewall gives me a cover up ip as the ip for my teamspeak server and no one can get in. I need to know what ports to open for teamspeak to work...Thanks

They are in the server manual and the FAQ Forum.
8767 UDP For normal operation (TS client)
14534 TCP If the web interfaces should be externaly available.
51234 TCP If the TCPQueryPort should be externaly available.
All these ports are configureable. So if you did reconfigure them use your new values.

Sorry, I am not telepathic.
No infos, no answers. Read the Forum Rules.
At least the error message they get is needed (Besides the infos requested in the Forum Rules).
Or better an TSClient.log in debug mode.

Nerd Killer, also see if your router has logs and if it's blocking the connections.
Make sure your hosting box is the using same IP as the one you told your router to forward do. If you are using the internal DHCP server (for your hosting box), the hosting box may be getting a different IP after every reboot and the port will not be forward correctly. Assigning static internal address to MAC addresses may relieve this.

I'm by no means an expert on the D-Link product, but I sure routers work the same.
1. If you router is in DHCP mode I don't believe you can not forward your port. You must do the manual configurations and then you can open ports for specific computers thru your router setup.
2. You router takes on your ISP given IP address, which is where your buddies need to connect to. This also needs to be a static IP address.
Hope that helps.

To 1. Manual configuration is recommended but DHCP may work for test purposes on most routers.
However if the via DHCP assigned IP changes the port forwarding has to be changed too.
Some routers support automiatc change of the forwading, but most not. So manual configuration is the way to go for these routers.
To 2. You don't need a fixed IP. If you have a dynaic IP you have to tell your mates your actual IP so that they can connect. If you don't want to tell your mates your IP every time it changes you can uses services like DynDNS.

@[pbc]Pyka
wrong.
The external IP detection feature is currently (at least till yesterday evening) not working. So the error you mention has nothing to do with blocking outgoing traffic,... !
There is nothing HE can do about this error !
@Nerd Killer
There's nothing wrong in your log file. The server started correctly. The log does not state a connection try, so this does not help us.
- What error do get the others ?
- Are you sure you opened the correct port (8767) for UDP (NOT TCP) ? And is the port forwarding correct setup (no changing IP by DHCP problem ?)

Most propably a wrong forwarding.
Can you connect from within your LAN via the LAN IP of the computer that runs the TS Server?
If so the server is running fine and the forwarding is incorrect.
Doublecheck that
- you did choose UDP as protocol.
- you did enter the LAN IP of the computer that runs the TS server as destination.
- no packet filter or firewall is active at the router.
- no 3rd party program is blocking the traffic (Like ZoneAlarm).
