Lost external Ip...Can no longer connect

Plugged in a new heater (pc in garage..Cold) When my circuit breaker flipped off. Now I have restarted my pc and Thus restarted the server.. I can no longer connect to server. Checked the ip and all that is showing is my local ip...no wan.

I checked the logs and of course they verify by stating "unable to detect external ip."
    The update ip does nothing.
Checked router settings and they are also same as before power outage. So nothing new just a lost ext Ip.

The question is why? Where did it go? How do I make the retrieval?

    ohhh...Merry X-mas!!

    Nevermind.....

Ignore this post I solved it on my own...

I dont know why but when my router powered it up the port forwarding Ip was switched between my computers...Strange but it did...Switched IP from 100 to 101!!!

Yes this is common. The router, which is running a DHCP server, saw that the 100 IP has been "taken"/ghosted, so it gave the server the next IP in the lease list--101.

To solve this, you should have a setting in your router's webadmin to make a static lease. You enter the MAC address of the PC you want to have the same internal IP address of and enter the IP address you want to assign it (ie 192.168.0.100). Then when the router sees that PC, it will always assign it the same IP so you do not have the problem you previously had.

The MAC address can be found by opening a command prompt and running "ipconfig /all." The option you need is called the Physical Address and will look something like 01-23-45-67-89-01.

If your router does not support static leases, configure the IP address of the computer that runs TS manually.

    More info on this here.
