Sound Blaster Live mic/transmit prob (emu10k1) alsa
So, I've googled for a long while and searched here for a long while... but I have not found a similar issue (that I can tell with resolution for Linux). I found a mic-SB Live issue under Winblow$ noted but the resolution did not fit my OS (threadid 9474).
I have a SB Live emu10k1 with alsa. The RTCW works, I can hear myslef on my speakers from the mic, but TS does not seem to know that the mic is transmitting (no green light in TS). Again, I hear me saying test on *MY* speakers. I have looked at the options in the alsamixer and have no clue what everthing does. I tried to make sure everything was unmutted and some volumes up (the ones I kinda recognize), but still no love.
Please help.
Fedora Core 1
alsa 1.0.0-0.rc2
AMD 1700+
SB Live

OK, one more note, I *do* hear the "Link engaged" and "channel connected" stuff.

Well, open alsamixer, and make sure you have:
"Mic" in 0% Volume (zero), and "Capture" writen over it (use space to toggle the capture flag).
Mic Boost muted (MM over it, use "m" to toggle)
"Capture" at 80% Volume, and capture flag set (capture writen over it)
"AC97 Capture" at 100%
Nothing else (except "Mic" and "Caputure" to have the Capture flag set).
Then try with push to talk, and see if somebody can hear you (or if you can hear yourself in the local testmode).
Good luck. You think my answer is stupid ? Read This:

Thank you very much
I can now talk to someone, and it ROCKS. I am very impressed with the results.
I did have the dreaded single use /dev/dsp issue. But after trying the "echo" to the /proc/asound deal mentioned (by you it looks like) from http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/show...&threadid=3067
Thank you again.

Thank you sooo much! Finally the answer! :)
I jumped through the hoops of registration just to thank you (and thank the guy who posted his question). I have been searching a week for the solution. After finally determining that everything is where it should be and ALSA is running and that yes, emu10k1 is the driver I am using all right, I thought I'd have to find a Linux Guru. I did a Yahoo search for "how teamspeak emu10k1" and your answer was the first result. Now I can run UO and teamspeak in Linux and I'm so elated. Thank you for your great answer and thank you to the teamspeak team for porting Teamspeak to Linux. Also thanks to Linux Format for the Linux Mandrake CDs!
