Ah a linksys router.

Can you tell me if you have troubles staying connected to ts2 servers on internet (not your lan)?

Actually i am interrested if you can stay connected to an internet server.

Just to do me a favour, connect to one of our servers, see it you stay connected for more than 15 minutes.

The reason i ask:
In ts1, a lot of people who have linksys routers have problems staying connected. We did some stuff with ts2, but if that did not work, i still have some tricks up my sleave

I have a linksys router with similar problems.

Firstly with Ts1 it used to connect fine but I could not be able to hear new people to join chats and after a while I would loose my connection or I would have trouble changing rooms although after about 30 seconds to a minute of nothing appearing to happen it would change room and I would suddenly be able to hear new users.

After a while the problem suddenly stopped. I think this was due to me changing port settings on the router to fix a couple of problems that I had with msn (the msn problem turned out to be a faulty router)

Then I installed TS2 initially I had no problems except for the minimise/maximise/close bug

The other day my replacement router arrived and once again my TS1 problems returned with some new problems for TS2 (not fully tested it yet) I can no longer access the site though its domain name or the IP that is directly linked to the domain. Instead I have to go though the server list and find it on there. The ip that comes up on the server list is the one of the virtual host where my server is based. I tested to see if the problem stopped if I removed my router and it did.

Tomorrow I may try calling the linksys helpdesk as I think it is some kind of port problem.

Some of my clan mates have a similar problem which can be seen on our forum at http://www.clangwl.co.uk/forum/threa...id=1&styleid=1

Which port uses the TS2 Server ?

TeamSpeak Server is using the following ports:

8767 UDP, Server
location at server.ini: ServerUDPPort=8767

14534 TCP, WebInterface
location at server.ini: HTTPServer Port=14534

51234 TCP, tcpquery port
location at server.ini: TCPQueryPort=51234

To get server to work behind firewall, nat, masq you
need only to open/forward the 8767 port.

Thanks....

Putting those setting to forward on my firewall dont make any difference.
Does the client use any other ports to find the server?

It still wont connect via the proper server address

I have a very simular problem when trying to connect to servers from behind a NAT firewall, I guess it may be related.

As far as I can work out, I can connect to Windows servers no problem at all, it's just Linux ones.

If you forward port 8767 UDP to your server ie:192.168.1.100
Then make sure your firewalls are set or turned off for testing.
Give out your external IP for others to join. You should be able to join also on your external IP address... That is how mine is setup and it works well... But I do use a separate server...
