client update 2.0.19.19

-fixed usb hardware causing ts to reboot pc's. (gv support now explicitly has to be enabled)

-made directsound bug workaround. Hopefully this will make Counterstrike playable with direct sound.

Instructions:
Extract this zip over the installed files (so you must replace the existing exe with the one in this zip file)

Can you explain what exactly the "Enable Gamevoice hardware support" does?

Also, window size/position and the splitter locations weren't remembered. (By the way, where are these values (and other settings) stored? I couldn't find them in the registry. )

I'll try to simulate the stuttering problem using 'wave' instead of Direct Sound, and report how it goes.

With gamevoice comes a piece of hardware called a puck. We support the buttons on it.

That's correct. Thats a result of the new functions in ts. and i did not feel like writing a conversion routine. The positions will be remembered from now on.

Hallo!

Thomas.

GV puck

Hi all,

its nice to have a way to recomission the puck.
However I noticed lockups when combining channel/users for simultanious transmits / whispers. Either with one key/two channels or two keys two channels.
I keep transmitting this way and need to close TS client and restart the puk.

Not a real problem, but still.

Great program by the way.

Cheers

The new Client-Version work great for me.
I had the stuttering problem with the RC1 Version, DS-mode and Counter-Strike but Wave mode fixed the problem.

The stuttering-Problems are gone with this new Version and in Direct-Sound Mode and Counter-Strike.

(Win2k SP3, Gamesurround Fort. II, newest drivers).

A few users tested with 19.19 (server is 17.20). Myself and a few others could hear them, but they (on 19.19) couldn't hear anyone, or see the lights light up, or hear the sexy "User joined channel maple syrup ooo baby" sounds. They checked all their settings, tried a few reboots, etc.

They went back to the rc1 exe, and everything worked fine.
This happened to at least 2 users.

yes other sounds ok.
many more probs with 19.19

winXP Pro on PII with Creative SOundcard on DSL

- many times TS crashed on connect to server 17.20..
much more as 13.13.
- if i connected an will close TS and leave server, i leave server but TS freezed.
- no womensounds any time, if i go at taskmanager i hear the voice with increddible reapeats, loops and scremblings

so i have many shut down and join probs with the update.
now i have reinstall the old 13.13.

Suggestion for new updates: let the settings saved. eg. the server addressbook.
i have type so many servers i my list (my own server i host) and if i upgrade the client i have to retype all again

Question Freeze-Ups and Loop-Backs Galore!

I too have experienced the problem whereby if I close the program while connected to the server, TS freezes up and can only be shut down via task manager. In addition, a few seconds into the lock-up, I can hear our lady friend looping over and over again.

I just went back to test this, and now I have no "connect/disconnect" voice sounds at all. Is there a fix to this?

How do you mean close while connecting?

Pressing the X on the topright while the client is connceting?

No, not while "connecting", but rather while "connected". If I am connected to a server and then hit the "x" to close out, it locks up. Before updating, x-ing out of the program while connected to a server would siumply disconnect me from the server and then close the program.
