Question Cannot connect from external

Hi

I have setup the TS2 server on a linux machine. I can connect to it from internal thru port 8767 UDP.

I have open up UDP 8767 in my firewall. But I couldn't connect to the server from external!!?

Did I miss out something? Do I need extra setting in the firewall?

Thanks

Wilson

What do the logs say? Check all the recently-touched logs in /var/log right after a failure:

ls -lt /var/log | head -20

One of these should have a clue.

Hi,

I checked the recently log...but nothing useful...

This is what I got in TS2 client.

[00:14:58] Connecting to teamspeak.myhost.com
[00:15:01] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

Thanks in advanced.

What kind of firewall? I was assuming ipchains or iptables on the same box but it occurs to me you might be using something external. If so, you need to see what that box says when you try to connect.

Same Scarnio, Different problem

I Have Linux redhat9 with ts2 server on it,
My friends can connect to it, but i cant.

One used the IP alone, which worked fine, the second did IP with a dot on the end of it, and he connected(?)

How come they can connect to it, but i cant at all no matter how i try??
