I have the problem to where I join Counter-Strike and I have sound but I can't use my microphone with Valve's In game voice communication.
They recommend changing your sound devices under advanced menu to direct sound capture instead of wave in. It didnt work for me you can try it, if it doesnt work I would like to know what does :/

Couple thoughts. Are you using voice activation? or have you bound it to a key. If it's bound to a key you might check your game settings to make sure that same key isn't being overridden by something in the game.
Okay, so it's only one thought

Are you saying you can't hear teamspeak? Or you can't hear the Counter-Strike sounds?
Check your ingame sound settings. If it has options for different sound devices, try changing them.

Its nothing to do with binds and such. I'll explain better :P
Ok first I connect to a teamspeak server minimize it then join counter-strikes, as im joining the game and it displays errors like tracker.dll error if its not installed etc. it shows me the message of something similiar to "your microphone is already in use attempting to use wavein. Failed you will not be able to use your microphone" I put my microphone on direct capture thingy in teamspeak and it still didnt work so ... ?
EDIT: After some inspiration I decided I wanted to find out what my sound card was for sure so I could send someone who knows what their talking about to a specifications page and tell me if that was the problem. Well I can't even find the card, it is creative but I entered all of the ID#'s into their search engine and found no results and then looked at pictures of their products to see which one was like mine. Its not there I think they made a special version for dell that is liked stripped down or something. Dell couldnt give me a specific card name either :/ bleh. Im thinking I just need a new sound card...
