heeeeelp!

Ok so it's not that bad. Everything is working /except/ I'm not transmitting anything? I'm using a sb live! with the most recent alsa .9 gentoo drivers/utilities and the most recent oss emulation package.

I turned the +20db boost on for the mic but still no transmission. I can hear myself loud and clear through the headphones when I'm talking. Any ideas?

First: HEELP is not a good subject.

With that said:

1: Determan if you are able to record your voice. Try some other program to record your voice. IF that works, the problem is ts, else the problem is probably your mixer.
If it is your mixer, be sure that all the needed devices are on capture. (maybe just 1 for you, maybe more)
Also check the volume on the mic (and other capture devices) is turned on High enough.

2: If it is teamspeak, go to settings->Sound I/O settings.
There you find a slider bar for voice activation level.
Setting it all the way to the left, should make your mic respond to the slightest sound.
You can press "activate local test mode" to test this. When you pressed, you should be able to hear yourself speak. Then slide the slider bar to the right long enough so that it only responds to your voice, and not other sounds.

fixed

For whatever reason I had to use my line input gain to get my mic to record under alsa .9x with a sblive. Working fine now except as reported in the other thread from time to time TS seems to lock up my system, requiring a hard reboot

Ts Hard-locking linux is hardly a ts problem I would think.

More likely instable drivers or bad hardware. Anything in the systemlogs after such a hardlock? (prob not :P)

run sshd

9 times out of 10 when the linux box locks up, you can ssh in and unlock it.
