Post bugs

Hi,

its time for some bugs to be reported

1. The little green light indicating that a person is talking (or not) doesnt seem to work very well, this is a change compared to the pre-alpha Niels, so you changed something there to the worse :P This green light issue also occurs in "local testmode" (there is a light there too).

2. The output of messages by the sexy woman :-)) doesnt occure sometimes, instead, they come all at once (which sounds kinda weird if there were many ) when teamspeak comes back into focus. [the focus thing is a guess, it came after I exited quake3].

These two, plus the issues with the installer that I did not experience, seem to be the most pressing bugs.

About keybind stuff, I would ask you linux guys to find somebody that knows how it works (or that it doesnt) to tell the XServer to forward keypresses to the app. The community can help on this one I guess (because, if I am still informed correctly, Niels is still waiting for some example/doc/help on how to implement the keypress stuff).

thoes all the bugs you got? theres TONS more my biggest gripe is that it is totaly unsecure you cant lock it for private use at all its so bad that my group will not use it at all more bugs sound always breaks up and or you get a very loud feedback/beep and the only way to stop it it to shut it down. total pice of junk sorry on the other hand we went back to the older version of TS and it works just fine

thats all I got, yes

Hmmm,

well, I guess you should file a proper bug report if you know any more ! What you say there is so short + unprecise that I dont know what you mean e.g. by
"it is totaly unsecure you cant lock it for private use at all"
If you mean you cant lock the server, then thats not true, as there is a server password and the possibility to supply channel passwords. If you want to stop other people from using the client on youre machine, then I'd recommend a screensaver with password protection while away :P...

About the Sound: My clanmates also expirienced very bad sound (windoze guys), until they all upgraded to the most recent release (.20 or so ?), which fixed it up very nicely. If youve got a decent headset, the quality is at least as good as telephone.
But, by the way, as I understand my post is in the _Linux_ _Client_ channel, so nothing to do with a) unsecurity of servers b) winblows sound quality and, there certanly is no going back to ts-1 for linux users :P !

pwk.linuxfan ->
1: True, and working on it
2: Mmm Have you tested this with the RC1 version? In RC1 i fixed some stuff that should prevent this. If it is still in.. back to the drawing board

As for the installer.. I don't know whats up with that, right now only 2 people gave me feedback on it, and they both used an amd - k6 processor. Im thinking that might have something to do with it.

Arthur96:
Thanks for registering make some unconstuctive criticism.
1st: Are you talking about the linux client?
2nd: What do you mean with "totaly unsecure" ? You can set a server password.

answering

Well,

actually the (2.) bug occured with the rc1, not with the pre-alpha (not necessarily meaning it doesnt occure with the pre-alpha :P). Also I have asked some other linux gamers that have the same prob with rc1. Of you go to the drawingboard :-)
