outbound volume

Hi,

my sound card is crap, and so when i enable microphone boost people can hear me but it soundsl ike theres a helicopter landing in my room. without mic. boost, my microphone is too quiet...however, if i turn up the "OUTBOUND volume" in the TS settings, they can hear me fine! the problem is, for some reason, turning up the outbound volume, increases the inbound volume also...so everyone else talking sounds extremely loud to me.... why does increasing outbound volume increase inbound?
thanks..

Try tyrning up the volume in the control panel of your operating system.

If you have windows, see this guide.

It's something of a miracle that the output volume slider in teamspeak is doing that for you... since it is *only* a slider for what you hear, it has nothing to do with what you are transmitting.

People sounding very quiet over teamspeak even when every other test outputs a perfect volume (recording in sound recorder, looping mic back out to speaks so you can hear it, etc.) seems to be a common problem.

I have no idea how you might fix it though, short of buying a new soundcard.
