Default Channel

Hi All,

Just got a TS server but my default channel is RD, so if a un-registered user tries to log into the server he/she is refused.

How do I set it up so un-registered users can do a quick connect to the default channel.

Thanks

ok normally everyone may connect R or U doesnt mather else try this:

here:

goto Administration by rightclicking on your ts server on the task bar.

login as the admin.

goto:
·Server Permissions
- Anonymous

and activate the second option called "- ChannelJoinRegisterred" and Save.

thats all

The default channel being set (RD) is standard, if people aren't able to join, that's not going to be the cause. I have my server set so that (U) users can't join (R) channels, but they all connect to the Default Chan regardless.

Technically, Default overrides (and requires) Registered status.

What is the exact error message users are getting when they try to connect?

That's because if a user isn't registered, they don't HAVE a username or password - they need to login as Anonymous the first time. Then, once they're on the server, they can register from the Self menu (unless you require an admin to grant registration permission).

Once they've established a username/password THEN they chan change their login details to use their new username and password combination.
