In most cases there is no benefit to upgrading

The SQLite DB is the default one, and is the reccommended one

For where people want to use like web registration, it is easier to use php/similar to MySQL DB

It is faster i suppose, but you wouldnt notice it unless you were running many multiple users servers....

MYSQL is stable once you have it up and running

you say for gaming clanS not just one gaming clan? then i would recomend MYSQL if its just once clan i wouldnt really worry too much about mysql although having a webregistration does look nice :P and saves hassle in the long run
