Most people are clear, but one person's voice is always muffled.

I have been using teamspeak for a while, and I run my own server (off one of my machines that is at a commercial colo facility).

I hear everyone just fine, very clear, etc, except for ONE person. Everyone else who uses our server can hear him just fine, including my wife whose PC is on the same network as mine, has the same config, etc. I have tried her headset on my PC, and still this one person is muffled.

We both have the same version of the client.

The channel we use has the Speex 25.9 kbit codec.

What could be causing this, and how can I go about fixing it?

Is there a better place to get TeamSpeak support?

Talking

I'm not sure, maybe there is something wrong with your connection to that person. Maybe try re-installing Teamspeak.

We both tried that.

To recap:

1) I can hear everyone else fine.

2) He can hear everyone else fine.

3) Everyone else can hear him fine.

4) Everyone else can hear me fine.

5) He can hear me fine.

The only problem is that I cannot hear him well at all - his voice is very muffled.

Can I get some troubleshooting here perhaps?

Or is there a better place to get teamspeak support?

This is the only place to get support.

You have a very unique problem that I can't even begin to fathom.

When someone transmits, they transmit to the server. The server then re-boradcasts that same data stream to *all* the other users in that channel.

Since everyone receives the same data stream, there's absolutely no reason why he should sound different to you than to anyone else.

The only thing I can even begin to find remotely plausible is if you've set yourself to some sort of low-speed codec, while everyone else is on the server default.

Beyond that, you're in uncharted territory.

Thank you for responding.

The weird thing is everyone else sounds fine to me, and this person sounds fine to everyone else.

I am pretty sure I am set to the best quality. How can I be certain?
