Possible hacking attempt.
Ok I run a ts server for my WOW guild. Only about 20 people (most of whome I know in rl) Know the address to connect to. Today someone whome I had never seen before joined the server. I asked him if he was a member of the guild, without answering he told me to right clikc his name and type in "Teamspeak update" I almost did what he said, but then i asked him again who he was. He told me his ts nickname. I told him that dont mean JS to me. He then claimed to be a teamspeak admin. I told him I didnt believe him and that if there was a new ts update out I would dl it from the website myself. He insisted that it was vital that I right click his name and type ts update. Fed up, I told him I am going to right click your name and click ban player. I gave the reason of hacking.
Now I cant be for certain that this wasnt a legit atempt from the ts team, but to be on the safe side i went ahead and added a password to the server just to be safe. Has anyone else encountered this before.

How many "E" -characters are in "ts update". One, but it's enough.
Right click + E would give him SA-status. (At least, in newest version there is popup before granting, but.. )

Nobody of our Team will ever join your TeamSpeak-Server ( ) ... to update your server.
Updates are only available on our Download-Page.

Ok thanks for the info on that guys. I was talking to a friend who works on networks for school systems, and he said that all someone would have to do to attain your ip and join your server is to have a "listening program" that searches for open ports specifically the ones needed for teamspeak.

Or, if you haven't disabled the option, he just has to find you in the Web Address Book/list of TS servers that TS publishes itself to.
But yes, a simple port scan would show TS as well.
