TS2 permamently muted on /dev/adsp

sound card: SB128(pci/ens1371)
drvier: alsa-0.9.0rc6 (with oss emulation)

Code:
[root]-[/proc/asound/oss] # cat ./devices
  2: [0- 2]: raw midi
  0: [0- 0]: mixer
  3: [0- 3]: digital audio
 12: [0-12]: digital audio
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc...owto/c1706.htm

Code:
PCMDevice        OSSDevice                Device No.
[...]
/dev/snd/pcmC0D0 /dev/dsp0   (/dev/dsp)   minor 3
/dev/snd/pcmC0D1 /dev/adsp0  (/dev/adsp)  minor 12
[...]
when i start Q3 (/dev/dsp) and eg. xmms (oss plugin=/dev/adsp) -> Q3 & xmms are play perfect.
when i start Q3 (/dev/dsp) and TS(/dev/adsp) -> Q3 plays, but TS is permamently MUTED (input/[output] option = disabled). WHY ???

/dev/adsp is OUTPUT ONLY. (get sick of telling people) ;-/

search to forums. but basically, link one onto the other device so games run on the output only one, leaving the bi-directional one for TS

I had the exact same problem... I looked everywhere but could not fix it, my solution was to change to OSS instead of using ALSA... now I have /dev/dsp0 and /dev/dsp1 working perfectly (I use TS2 on dsp0 and quake on dsp1)

BTW: I have the same soundcard as you... so it's prolly the alsa driver for the ens1371 or something

I wrote a perfect piece on this. On how to link the devices in alsa. If you are too lazy to search and read: be my guest and try to find it out yourself
