Client b42
I don't understand how to find the bugs fixed in the client b42. I have searched mantis for b42 and .42 and 0.42 but I get nothing.
Thanks

added :P
In principle .42 is the same as .41 as mantis is concerned. I did a fix on it before someone could report it on mantis :P

OK my point is that I don't know what things were changed in .41. Basically, I have to read every post that was assigned to you in any category to see what has changed. Maybe a post with a lit of the mantis post ID#s that show what's fixed.
Anyway please look at id=0000155 for my response. We are having to switch to TS1 server way too often in mid game due to this.
Also, will there ever be a change pass mechanism in the client? Sometimes people would like to change their pass and no one but admins can access the web admin.

Dragging this back to b22, I'm trying to bring it up alongside my old RC1 (so I don't disrupt team activities until everything is tuned).
First problem was that it wouldn't start at all with RC1 using port 8765, so I shut down RC1 for 30 seconds, long enough to get the DB and INI initialized, then shut down RC2 and brought RC1 up.
I then edited the port values in the DBS and the INI files. After that I haven't been able to bring up RC2 again; it complains that some resource is unavailable when trying to start the web and query threads.
Is there any way you can log what resource it's complaining about? (Alas, I don't know enough about Kylix or Posix threads to know what you might query for that.) I did check ulimit -a and everything looks reasonable, default stack size is 2040K so it's not running out of memory. (Had that problem with the early EA BF1942 Linux server.)
I'll try to fire up RC2 on my home machine (same OS, no running RC1) later tonight to see if I can further debug this.

Figured it out. The problem was the default stack size wasn't acceptable. "ulimit -a" revealed a stack size of 2040k. Cranking this up to 8192k allowed the server to start.
If the thread stack size is an important value, it should be set explicitly in the thread creation logic. If the limit is too small, this should be logged.

Still using b22/linux. Still having tons of problems with CA bugs that appear fixed according to mantis.
Any chance of getting a more recent snapshot for those of us on the bleeding edge?

I donīt know why you need the b22 server, it is a newer Version from the Server online (version: 2.0.19.40).
But if you need this B22-Server File, send me a PMail with your Email and i send you the File.
Linux or Windows?
