Voice plays back through speakers only

I didn't see anything with this on there so i'm asking.

When i try to talk it plays back through my speakers but doesn't transmit.

I'm using oss with default creative sb live support.

Anybody ever see this happen? Or what I can do to fix it?

few dumb problems maybe....

you shouldnt hear yourself in your speakers when talking.
- loopback keybinded on wisper or summin ?
- check in options weather "activate loopback test" is on or off.

I know, that's why I'm asking.

No, it's not on the codec test mode. (but it's like it is) activating deactivating does the same thing.

I bound it to a key, but vioce activated does the same thing.

No matter what it plays back through my speakers and doesn't transmit.

Send a message via ICQ to GMC-jimmy
Try your mixer

User your mixer application (ie. kmix, aumix, ect...)
and set it to "record" from your "mic"
You may choose to "mute" the "playback" if you wish, it won't effect transmissions at all, and that will prevent you from hearing yourself over your own speakers.

If this trick doesn't work, then there's something wrong out of the ordinary.

I was having the same problem, but just found the solution right now. Instead of setting "rec" on the microphone input, set "rec" on IGain, and try again. Mic and IGain are not muted and the volume is up, but I haven't tried variations here.
