TeamSpeak 3 Client 3.0.0-beta17 Available
We've just finished uploading version 3.0.0-beta17 of the client. Here's a list of changes:
Code:
=== Client Release 3.0.0-beta17 - 09 Feb 2010
+ Added popup menu to icon button of virtual server dialog to remove the icon.
* Close virtual server dialog when disconnecting.
* Bluesky style updates for new UI elements.
- Chat autoscroll fixes when using multiline chat input.
- Fixed logfile management of chat logging.
+ Added overview to display all clients within a channelgroup for each channel,
see new button and contextmenu in channelgroup permissions window.
+ Added overview to display all channelgroups of a client, see new contextmenu
entry on client menu (permissions submenu).
* Updated German translation.
* Disable password field in channel edit dialog for default channel
- Update other servertab icons if connection failed (banned, invalid password)
- Disable servergroups client contextmenu if permission is not given
(b_virtualserver_servergroup_list).
- Fixed bug when unsubscribing a channel manually while glance is active.
- Properly display '&' characters in tab names properly
* Show a more detailed explanation when trying to remove priority speaker via
contextmenu and the permission was not set as channel client permission. The
contextmenu can only handle channel client priority speaker permission.
* Disable permissions tree for client and channel-client permissions when no or
an invalid client is selected.
- DNS lookup failure won't stop autoreconnecting anymore.
+ Use recently implemented remote server icon for bookmarks.
- Fixed reappearing toolbar when window reappears from tray and the toolbar was
previously disabled.
- Fixed invalid whisper targets with whisperlists.
* Virtual server edit dialog now honors b_virtualserver_modify_icon_id (Icon)
and b_virtualserver_modify_name (phonetic nickname).
* Overhauled server groups edit dialog.
- Client honors max chat size and won't send messages which exceed length to
the server anymore.
- Fixed possible crash when closing server groups dialog.
* Replaced the red questionmark "no icon set" icon with a transparent pixmap.
- When playing test sound in options->playback and switching to another
section, the sound will stop. If changing mode or device during test sound,
the "apply"-button will immediately play with the new mode/device.
- Fixed possible crash when closing the client after using the test playback
device button.
- Context menus no longer affect the next current tree item when the item on
which the menu was opened is deleted.
- Fixed highlighting wrong server tab after moving it.
- Changed that virtual server edit dialog shows an icon instead of icon_id.
- The server groups dialog does now respond to changes on the server groups.
* Hoster button now will only open ftp://, https:// or http:// URLs. When no
scheme is given, like "teamspeak.com", http:// is always suggested.
+ Added server phonetic nickname for TTS via ${servername} in settings.ini
* Servergroup icons displayed in servergroup edit dialog.
+ Added icons for server, channels and clients. Server icon is set in the
virtual server edit dialog. Channel and client icons are set by i_icon_id
in channel/client permissions.
* Updater now starts update automatically when called from client.
Have fun downloading

It seem that you can no longer have custom Icons for your bookmarks with this update...is this just me?
EDIT: ok I noticed that it takes from the server's set Icon...so how do I give myself permission to set the server icon? since it wont let me give myself the permission...

Only problem I noticed so far is actually a minor problem with beta16, but this is the first time I've used this feature update from beta16 since this is the first client update since. The part about the updater auto-starting the update when called from TS3 client did not work. Got an error about closing the client before starting the update. My system has a 3.0Ghz quad core processor (AMD 940) running Windows 7 x64. It appears that the thread the updater started in got ahead of the thread closing the client. Perhaps a delay timer in the updater after called from client to give the client time to close. Or if called from client and client still open enter a loop with a 500ms delay and retry up to about 5-6 times, if still open do as it currently does (show the close client window, stop update attempt, leave updater window open).
Will let you know if I find any thing else, and thanks for the updates, look forward to using the channel/server icons.

[Possible update BUG]
When I tried to update my client via the updater it did not close the client. When I pressed START UPDATE it warned me the client should be closed. The only way I could close it and keep the updater open was to end the client process in the task manager. Hopefully it was just my system...
I'm running Win7 x64.

Reason: should have been channel and not group :/

Typo.
There's a small typo:
Instead of 09 Feb it should be 09 March, shouldn't it?

Yes, good point. The updater now automatically starts instead of requiring a click on "Start update" (an often requested feature). What you say about the loop delay makes sense and will be implemented.
I didn't have the problem myself when updating at home and here in office, but yes, it can occur.

What server version are you using it with? Group icons worked with beta16 client + beta18 server.
For the new server/channel/client icon stuff with beta17 client + beta19 server, its been a hit and miss for the icons working (some of the icons I've uploaded work, others don't, on the same server). I'm not able to determine why yet, doesn't make much sense for an icon to work with the server group but then not as the server/channel/client icon.
Edit: looks like Stefan1200 may have found why not all uploaded icons are working for server/channel/client icons.

Group and Client are woriking but as I said in the server topic, for me no Client_icon_id found, only have to search for the client permission, and then under Group - group icon identifier , give the wanted icon and it works.
Dunno if i'm the only one not finding the correct permission name... :/
As for the bug reported from Stefan1200, all worked good for me but did not try to upload new icons
(BTW little bit off topic, but will the kick/ban permission for CA be corrected in next release ? (so that a CA cannot kick/ban people from all the server but only from channel ? ) )

I noticed you have added "phonetic server nickname for TTS" in the settings.ini which is all well and good unless you are renting a server from a host provider that does not allow you to adjust or even see the server files. Is there any way you guys could add this feature to the edit virtual server UI?

Its the line right below SERVER NAME in the EDIT VIRTUAL SERVER window. Took me about 5 minutes to find the first time even though I was staring right at it!

I am unable to save the options once I set a phonetic nickname for the server. No message to say it saved, if I close it and open it still no phonetic nickname for the server.
