I was excited about the new release of TS as the older version has some problems with some of my friends' hardware (see post on the TS 1.x thread about darleks

Anyway, installed and ran the client/server thing and it seems to work ok.. except for being blasted with static most of the time.

Systems used:
Server: P2-400 /w 256MB RAM running WinXP Pro and cable internet connection.

Mine: Athlon Thunderbird 1400 /w SBLIVE 5.1 DE with latest drivers from Windows Update (2603 if memory serves...)

Friend: AMD K6-2 500 /w Hercules Fortissimo II with 2.03 drivers running WinXP.

Static occurs randomly it seems, but it is especially bad when a game is started (cstrike). Solution is to shut down the client on the machine giving out static, restarting it and rejoining the server. A disconnect/reconnect does not help, TS client MUST be shut down. (Note Wave/DSound output doesn't make a difference)

Does anyone know what to do about this?

Unfortunately, it does nothing... "Do you wish to install DirectX" "Yes" then instantly "Direct X Successfully installed" No files are installed/no reboot etc.

That website you directed me to has win9x/ME/2K but we all run XP. All of us have the latest windows updates. I tried the install with the Win2K version but as I said, no files are changed/installed.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. But the problem goes unsolved..... Anyone else?
