Is it possible to save the channels you have set up so that they are present after a server restart in TS2 ??

To make the rooms persistent, you must check the registered flag in the create/edt channel window. The rooms will automaticlly be saved, even if the server is restarted.

You can back up your entire server in 2 files, I believe. Since the rooms and user accounts are saved in the server.db file, rathar than the tsserver.ini file, you will have to back up both server.ini and server.db files to preserve your rooms/accounts. Perhaps the server.log should be backed up as well so you can refer to it if you forget the admin password. Always good to make a redundant admin account.

if the registered box is greyed out, you don't have permissions to create registered channels... ask a ServerAdmin for the cause...
