Just wanted to let you know: I updated to 3.1.0 using the LinuxGameServerManager-Script without any problems.
I only had to accept the new Licence agreement: https://support.teamspeakusa.com/ind...le/View/344/16
Info for other LGSM-Users: You have top update the script itself, before updating your TS3 server. The Script has a built-in function for that.
Thanks for your work!
In case you use my *.spec file to create a *.rpm for fast deployment and fast update, download an updated *.spec for this server version:
https://forum.teamspeak.com/threads/...0-1-1-i386-rpm
Why you should use a packaged installation: installation and update from a previous version takes a few seconds and the file system permissions are always correct. Server downtime during update: 5-10 seconds.
Windows XP is no longer supported then?
Yes it means that we do not give any support, when user try to run the server on Windows XP (and Windows Vista).
Both operation systems are not maintained anymore.
Same counts for Windows server before version 2012.
Is not available for download from the new version.
still be available?
Its already availible!
Check it out on http://dl.4players.de/ts/releases/3.1.0/
Looks like the wording in announcement is not inline with License overview page (https://www.teamspeak.com/en/licensing.html). May need to get that "No License" area to be worded as "Default" or "Base" license.
But not showing here unless we are getting a cached site: https://www.teamspeak.com/en/downloads.html#server
Update, looks like cached site (Shift + refresh) and update is showing.
Can we please get a prominent advanced warning on when this is going to occur once that decision is made? ThanksQuote:
Note that future client releases will eventually not connect to 3.0.x servers anymore.
In addition to accepting the new license, I had to install ca-certificates (on Debian). You should mention this new dependency in the announcement to prevent unnecessary downtime of servers.
Some user get everytime the request to update their version but they run the newest version. any solution? (some of them told me they get this message only when they connect via favourites)
Just follow our changelogs or posts in our announcements threads and you will be informed as soon a beta client was released and you will know which client version will reject older server versions.
There is currently no reason just to announce when a client will not connect any longer to older server versions.
We only support that server and client are running on latest version. Everything else is nothing we provide any support to.
The "outdated client issue" is an issue with OVH Game and not a TeamSpeak issue.
An TeamSpeak update is usually done in a few seconds, a few seconds more if running an x86 server which cannot use hardware accelerated puzzle precompute. With a database update required, it may take up to half a minute. So I don't see any issue here.
I suggest that you update soon or at least when OVH fixed their firewall.
Topic: Server tells latest client to update is now part of thread https://forum.teamspeak.com/threads/134935
There you can get latest information (I/we will update post 5).
Every new post will be moved to that thread.
Yeah sorry about that, I honestly missed your original reply.
I agree, but I meant that gamers tends to go full retard when you interrupt their gameplay, be it 5 or 1 minute. :p
I was worried about the "outdated client issue" at first, but it seems it OVH-related which is not my case. I'll stick with your suggestion and I will update it in the next days.
Could we get information about which ports must open necesarry to TeamSpeak Server works properly?
Previously, until 3.1.0, it was tcp 2008, udp 2010, query port (default tcp 10011), file transfer port (default tcp 30033) and server port.
Ports can be found in our FAQ which was mentoined in our 3.1 Server thread.
