Logitech G-Key Plugin

TeamSpeak 3 G-Key Plugin

This plugin provides support for Logitech devices with G-Keys for hotkeys. This allows you to use these macro keys directly without rebinding them to standard keyboard keys.

Download and install the latest version from myteamspeak.com.

Once installed G-Keys can be configured like any other hotkey, however by default these hotkeys can only be used when TeamSpeak 3 is in focus. To use these hotkeys with any application active you need to make TeamSpeak 3 the persistent profile in the Logitech Gaming Software.

Plugin works great on Windows 7 / TS3 rc2-pre 64 bit, thank you.

I just got into contact with someone who has a G35 headset, I expected it to use the same drivers with script functionality as the keyboards but this is not the case. I'm trying to come up with a solution, but this will require a completely different approach. This will be hard for me to even begin with, since I do not own an G35 headset. There is a dev kit for the G930 though, so it'll be easier to add support for it, but again I don't have access to the hardware to test it. Would anyone like to see support for the G-keys on Logitech headsets?

UPDATE: Version 0.3 has been released, it fixes a crash while you use Push-to-talk when you haven't connected to any server yet.

is it possible to get this working with G110 "http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/devices/5902" or maybe it already works but somehow TS3 dose not support it anymore i have no clue but i cant get it working can someone update the plugin or make another because i would love to have it im running out of buttons to set PTT on

This could have several causes:

• Are you trying to set it as the PTT hotkey in the options? This not necessary, as the plugin will activate PTT itself ignoring any TS3 settings. (You can just clear the PTT hotkey be pressing ESC when assigning a hotkey)
• Have you edited gkey == 1 and mkey == 2 to match your control scheme? (If you want to use G5 when M1 is active you change it to gkey == 5 and mkey == 1)
• Are you sure the script is executed correctly? Try temporarily adding a log message and with the script editor open see if the message is logged when you press the key. Like this:

The script is fine, but that error is definitely not normal. Do you get that error every time you press a key? What version of the drivers are you using? The current one or the legacy one?

That's the legacy version, but I see you are running Windows 7 64-bit, did you use the DLL from the x64 subfolder? Also, is the plugin enabled? (The checkbox is checked like other activated plugins)

But you're sure the plugin is enabled? It's not colored red with the description: "Failed to load plugin"? (Which it should be on the hotfix since that one is 32-bit only).

If that works, let's see if the debug messages are actually being sent. Close TeamSpeak and run the DebugView utility. If the script is working correctly the debug messages should appear in there when you press the key.

Are you sure you're installing the plugin in the right location? Is there is an entry called "G-key Plugin" in the list?

Ok, the debug output is working just fine, we can rule out the script. It seems like the plugin is just not being loaded.

C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamSpeak 3 Client\plugins\g-key.dll 32 and 64bit work

well i gave teamspeak a beating and now the 64bit version lights up red and shows this "Plugin failed to load:

Ah you used the 32-bit version of TeamSpeak 3, but it still won't activate PTT?

..........

Now I get the problem, since the client is 32-bit only the 32-bit plugin will work on it and the 32-bit plugin can't debug 64-bit applications. The only way to solve it is installing the 64-bit version of TeamSpeak from the download page and use the 64-bit plugin with that.

I'll document this in the ReadMe in the next version, I can probably also detect it in the plugin and present the user with an error message.

I'm using Client 3.0.0-rc2 [Build: 14642], 64-bit version, when dropping the g-key dll from the x64 into my plugins folder and all i get is

What operating system are you using?

Windows 7 professional SP1 64-bit

Are you sure you're using the correct version? Normally you'd only get that error when you're using the 32-bit version on the 64-bit version or the other way around.

Not exactly. That's depend of the API version.

If I put your plugin in my client I see on the API verion : 0
For RC2 I should see 11

It should be API version 11, the only instance where it reports 0 for me is if I use the wrong version. If I install the right version on my computer it works just fine no matter where I download it from and other people are running it too. Are you certain you are using the correct version? If you are using the 64-bit version of TS3 you should use the plugin in the x64 subdirectory. I should've documented this properly in the ReadMe.

But this is not the first time someone reported this kind of problem when it turned out to be unrelated to the version. Like the way it doesn't work on Windows XP unless I compile it on that platform with VS2008 (See the hotfix). But that is under Windows XP, it should work just fine under Windows 7.

I'm most definitely using the g-key.dll located in the x64 directory and the 64-bit version of TS3, so i'm not sure why i'm getting an api version of 0...

I've encountered the same problem on another Windows 7 64-bit machine, I'm going to compile the plugin with VS2008 for both versions and see if that works. Expect a hotfix tomorrow.

I am also having trouble getting the plugin to load. I get the red g-key.dll in the plugins dialog, and the description says
Plugin failed to load:
Failed to open plugin.

update... I downloaded your source and compiled it with VS2010. My compiled .DLL works just fine; is it possible that you accidentally put the 32-bit DLL in the 64-bit folder?

I tested it on three Windows 7 64-bit machines, two of them work fine with the DLL from the x64 folder. I even recompiled it, the 64-bit DLL works fine on two out of three Windows 7 64-bit machines.

The only difference I can see is that the two machines where the DLL works are fully updated and have VS2010 installed. While the machine where it doesn't work has no development enviroment and hasn't been updated for a while.

I have compiled a new 32-bit and 64-bit version on Windows XP SP2 with VS2008, it works on all machines. I have replaced all the downloads with these new binaries. If you aren't able to load the plugin, please download the new binaries.

UPDATE: The problem was caused by the absence of the most recent Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable, but instructing everyone to install it would just be inconvenient. The Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable is packaged with TeamSpeak 3, so it makes more sense to compile it against that one.

you could also configure your visual c++ project, so that it uses the static lib of the runtime. this should eliminate the need for visual c++ redistributables
