I noob-ishly signed up with my DoB as 19/02/1990 instead of 14/02/1990.
As nice as it was getting a happy birthday email five days late... Could an admin update my forum account?
Feel free to...
Use i_client_needed_join power on the channels and group your clients (obviously groups needed to have join_power set).
No need for passwords. Once it's done it's done then you only need to manage...
Remove
<h3><a href="ts3server://<?=$ip?>?port=<?=$port?>"><?=$ip?>:<?=$port?></a></h3>
from ts3view.php
Not a bug.
This is intentional behaviour which allows greater control over channel/sub-channel access.
Set the password in the sub-channels too if you wish for them to be protected.
I only want my Clan Executives to be able to manage the members within the group and not to modify permissions, or be able to view client or channel permissions.
When you open up the Server Groups...
Yeah I thought this too...
Could TS be changed so that the welcome message is shown after the automatic subscription to channels?
This way users are more likely to see the message instead of seeing the last 3/4 subscribed...
But needed_talk_power wouldn't do that.
You'd really want a setting on the default channel permissions to prevent notifications.
What version of the client are you using?
Update to BETA9 if you're using an old one.
Would just be easier to prevent them from entering the channel?
Is an issue for us too.
To the point of annoying-ness where I've told them I'm re-setting up TS3 on Monday and if they connect with Multiple IDs again I'll just ban them until they can learn to...
There would probably need to be enforced moderation on it just to make sure, as best as possible, everything posted is accurate to the best of knowledge.
But still I'm sure it'd be easy to find a...
The thought just popped into my head.
Maybe a TS3 community contributed wiki could be a good idea?
If some wiki standards were established and it was kept up to date, the content could be used...
The forums are getting a bit cluttered with duplicate topics surrounding the same issues now.
Simple things from people who can't be asked to read the documentation or use the search function!

Set as Default Channel;
Set Needed Client Talk Power to 200.
None of your groups should have talk power over 100. If this problem still occurs then you may need to reinstall or list all of your...
Your needed private message power must be empty or at a level equal or lower than their private message power
Disable it then.
Make sure you're using the higher codecs.
If using ts3server.ini
licensepath=licensekey.dat
If using command line launch add
licensepath=licensekey.dat
on the end.
Right click the server > edit and type in a password.
P.S. Also get your server upgraded to BETA8.
To be fair this isn't such a big ideal.
You should keep the feature how it is.
If people really feel so passionately about it just save the generated password in a text file in the same...

Making it the TS2 way just limits things more, this way you have the flexibility.
I think people just might need to get used to the idea and maybe in some cases they may need to look at it and...
And here's my response on it... I think people are underestimating the benefit of having the set up like this.

Any chance of it being possible for us to block the inheritence of the password protection for a subchannel?

I like it.
Means I can lock out the root channel at 200 join power.
Password protect Training 01, Training 02 and then have an unpassword protected channel within the Training Root for people...
Then the answer is no there isn't.
The only way you could disable it would be to put yourself in a completely seperate group with the right permissions.
You could try a feature suggestion, or...
Do you have the group set as permanent within the permissions?
What is the text message power and needed text message power set to for the admin usergroup?
Just set the poke required power for your user group higher than any user groups "poke power" that you don't want poking you.
Wouldn't it just be easier to set a password?
Permissions > Server Groups
For each individual server group:
Group > Group is Permanent permission is set to true?
Correct?
Not if you've disabled it.
What are you trying to achieve?
Use search?
