TS3 server wont' start.Thinks another instance is running

So, I have a VMware server setup with an Ubuntu VM running TS3.0.10.1.

When I try to start the server I get the following error in the log:

    Code:
    2014-06-25 03:35:31.414391|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.0.10.1 (2013-11-08 11:09:56)
    2014-06-25 03:35:31.414560|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | SystemInformation: Linux 2.6.38-15-server #66-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 14 17:42:23 UTC 2012 x86_64 Binary: 64bit

    2014-06-25 03:35:31.415951|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | dbPlugin version: 3.7.3
    2014-06-25 03:35:31.416463|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | checking database integrity (may take a while)
2014-06-25 03:35:31.462862|WARNING |Accounting | | Unable to find valid license key, falling back to limited functionality
2014-06-25 03:35:31.963107|ERROR |Accounting | | local accounting reports an already running instance, instance will shutdown
2014-06-25 03:35:31.963168|ERROR |ServerLibPriv | | Server() error while starting servermanager, error: instance limit reached
This all started after my son (age 1.5) decided it would be run to unplug the server. (No, he wasn't supposed to be down there... thank the wife for that one)

So TS3 thinks there is already an instance of the server running, but there isn't. Nothing in ps, no .pid file anymore. I'm not sure what to do from here....

    any ideas?

When checking if there is an instance running, make sure to check all processes, even those of other users. While you're at it you should also update to the latest TeamSpeak server version, which currently is 3.0.10.3

There is already a server running.
The error message does and PID 1989 also does tell you.

You can not run a second instance without a license.

Please stop the process, before you try to start your server.

I fixed it,I had to stop the instance from the other user and start it again from Root
Thank you for your kind answer.

Don't run your servers as root. It is unsupported.

which is something you shouldn't do. It warns you about it for a reason.
You should create a new limited user account that runs the server.
