Token vs privilege key

Hi!

Currently i work on python3 query interface and i don't understand a thing.

What's the difference between Token* and PrivilegeKey* commands? Token commands are deprecated or something like that?

In the documentation (pdf into server directory) we got this explanation for tokenadd/privilegekeyadd:

PRIVILEGEKEYADD
Create a new token. If tokentype is set to 0, the ID specified with tokenid1 will be a server group ID. Otherwise,
tokenid1 is used as a channel group ID and you need to provide a valid channel ID using tokenid2.
The tokencustomset parameter allows you to specify a set of custom client properties. This feature can be used
when generating tokens to combine a website account database with a TeamSpeak user. The syntax of the
value needs to be escaped using the ServerQuery escape patterns and has to follow the general syntax of:
ident=ident1 value=value1|ident=ident2 value=value2|ident=ident3 value=value3


Permissions:
b_virtualserver_token_add
Syntax:
privilegekeyadd tokentype={1|0} tokenid1={groupID} tokenid2={channelID}
[tokendescription={description}] [tokencustomset={customFieldSet}]

Example:
tokenadd tokentype=0 tokenid1=6 tokenid2=0 tokendescription=Test\stoken\swith\scustom\sset
tokencustomset=ident=forum_user\svalue=Sven\sPauls en\pident=forum_id\svalue=123
token=eKnFZQ9EK7G7Mh

The syntax specifie privilegekeyadd but the example specifie tokenadd...

Why we got these two way for the same thing?

It's a question of terminology, I guess. "token" is too generic of a word and doesn't really describe the meaning of it's function.

There is no difference between a token and our privilege key.
It's used to identify and gain access to a group and can be used once only.

Exactly. Only technical advanced users understand the meaning of a token.

I have read the chanlog and found this line for the server v3.0.0-b29

! token functions renamed to privilegekey (privilegekeyadd, privilegekeydelete, privilegekeyuse, privilegekeylist)
old function names are still working but will be removed.

You've planned the withdrawal of the functions or you intend to keep them?

It was a beta release and opinions can change ;D
Nothing is planned with token and privilegekey commands. Both stay valid.

The _functions_ will not be withdrawn as they are the cornerstone of the TS3 security system.
The commands (rather, an old forms of commands) can be deprecated/removed, but it seems, they decided to keep both.
Should probably correct the documentation for a better clarification.
Replace the description of token* commands with

token* is an alias for privilegekey*.

I've tried to attach fixed documentation to the post, but it seems the forums are still not so healthy.

I've also spotted a typo in the "privilegekeyuse" description, it mentions a "token key" instead of "privilege key", and lack "to" part to address the next word.
