As far as I know, such thing happens if the server is started with a machine_id= option differently to what it was before. That means, if you previously started your server with machine_id=something, and now you use machine_id=someotherthing or no machine_id at all, or vice versa, this will happen. This is an option either directly on the server start command line or an option in the *.ini file if you use an ini file at server start.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have copied the same ts3server.ini and altered the IP addresses to meet the new server. I both .ini files it is 1. When I log in as root and start the minimized startup script, it does work with the proper virtualserver. As wel as the normal startup script as root. When i configure systemctl it starts with the created ts3user and then uses the seconde new virtualserver 2.

it is in systemctl somehow. I tried al service config from the web, but all fail to give the results, as where is started manually.

    Code:
    [Unit]
    Description=Team Speak 3 Server
    After=network.target

    [Service]
    WorkingDirectory=/home/ts3user/teamspeak3-server

    PIDFile=/home/ts3user/teamspeak3-server/ts3server.pid

Do your user ts3user has file system permission to read /home/ts3user/teamspeak3-server/ts3server.ini? That's the only thing I imagine why it detects the machine_id from the ini file if started as root but not if started as user.

    I changed the server

I changed the server, which also changed ip address.

I have an old server ts3 backup yes but how do i get a new backup server to work so that the ts3 server goes on

    - I've tested that can I restore the backup: it to a new server, which instructions can be found here already, but the server does not consent to go on

Linux Backup - Database password needed?

    Hi everyone,

I've seen a lot of tutorials out there on how to move/backup a server. I realise that I can copy the entire teamspeak folder containing the all the files needed (including the database).

My question however, is will the new server be able to access/use the old database? I would imagine that unique user credentials would have been set during the initial installation and saved somewhere on the original server? Or are these details also bundled inside the teamspeak folder too?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

The new server (as long it is a TeamSpeak server) will treat the database the same way your old server did.
Passwords for channels, servers and Query logins are saved in it and you don't have to care about them when insert the database in the new server. They stay the same as in the old server.

For the rest please read post #2 from this thread.

    Help moving server

Hello, I am moving vps and I'm not sure which files to look at? I have mariadb, but I don't know which file it is? It's not libts3db_mariadb.so? or libts3db_sqlite3.so? I also can't find the icons/avatars/channel avatar uploads? Which folder is it in?

I followed https://support.teamspeakusa.com/ind...-should-i-copy and took all the necessary files.

    Thank you.

Do not forget to move your server database to the new server.

    4. Copy following folders to the target machine:
    Code:
    files
    logs

    Hi Dante,

I don't see "ts3server.sqlitedb" in my teamspeak folder, but I do see "libts3db_sqlite3.so" and "libts3db_mariadb.so" what are those? I forgot where I had my mariadb thats why I'm asking which one is which.

You don't have one in case you really use MariaDB.
This is is why i quoted Step 3.1.

None of the mentioned files are a database.

The database is where your MariaDB server is running.

Migrate teamspeak server from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 16.04

    Hello everybody,

I am trying to migrate my teamspeak server from Ubuntu 12.04 (i686) to a new 16.04 minimal (x86_64).

Now I'm getting this error while starting the server:
    Code:
    2018-02-26 02:38:15.130970|CRITICAL|DatabaseQuery | |unable to load database plugin library "libts3db_sqlite3.so", halting!
My installation is now about 8 years old and runs on the current machine for about 5 years. Except of annual updates I'm not very similiar at the moment with the configuration of the server.

Current running version is 3.0.13.8 - 32 bit - and on new server I use current available version 3.1.0 - 64 bit -.

I tried running server without my backups and it worked, so there should be something with my new files.

Directory is owned by user ts3server and all serverfiles were extracted by this user.

Files in new teamspeak server directory:
    - CHANGELOG
    - doc (directory)
    - files (directory)
    - libts3db_mariadb.so
    - libts3db_mysql.so
    - libts3db_sqlite3.so
    - LICENSE
    - licensekey.dat
    - logs (directory)
    - ts3server
    - ts3server_minimal_runscript.sh
    - ts3server_startscript.sh
    - tsdns (directory)

File in current active teamspeak server directory:
    - CHANGELOG
    - doc (directory)
    - files (directory)
    - libts3db_mariadb.so
    - libts3db_mysql.so
    - libts3db_sqlite3.so
    - LICENSE
    - 18:21 licensekey.dat
    - logs (directory)
    - query_ip_blacklist.txt
    - query_ip_whitelist.txt
    - redist (directory)
    - redistributables (directory)
    - serverkey.dat
    - serverquerydocs (directory)
    - sql (directory)
    - ts3server
    - ts3server_linux_amd64
    - ts3server_linux_x86
    - ts3server_minimal_runscript.sh
    - ts3server.sqlitedb
    - ts3server.sqlitedb-shm
    - ts3server.sqlitedb-wal
    - ts3server_startscript.sh

I also tried to change permissions, to copy libts3db_sqlite3.so in folder "sql" or folder "lib".

If you need further information to help me, dont hesitate to ask ;)

    I appreciate every constructive help!

    Best regards
    Bismarck

Your server files are mixed up with 32 & 64 bit binaries and maybe other things.

Please install the server in an empty folder.
Then copy the files from and folders (mentioned in Post #2) to this new folder.

Stop your server instance and backup the ts3server.sqlitedb in case you do not use MariaDB.
You may Backup more (See post #2).
