Lightbulb AAL / ATHP license should be displayed different

    Hello,

currently the AAL and ATHP license is displayed as "Licensed Hosting Provider" on each TeamSpeak Server.

In case of that two different license models it would be good, if the server also displays different license descriptions on TeamSpeak.

    Example:
    • Unlicensed (No license)
    • Non-Profit (NPL)
    • Annual Activation/Single Server (AAL)
    • Authorized TeamSpeak Hosting Provider (ATHP)

Related to this, it also would be good, if any or just AAL/ATHPs can validate/check the used license of a specific server by entering the server IP. And if this entered IP uses an invalid license, your "checking tool" (= website) also could create a ticket.

And why is this important for users? I miss a good reason why the license type should be changed in the server.

The idea isn't new, but we don't have a real reason to change this.
The server could also show "License: Yes/No" and it would be valid to it's license type.

My named "checking tool" is already available - but just for TS2 servers: http://sales.teamspeakusa.com/checkip.php

Why is it important for users? Well... All users and hosters are able to validate licenses and could help TeamSpeak Systems to report cracked licenses.

Users, moderators and admins of communities are also able to validate posts in their forum/community. This would help to detect more illegal cracked licenses and this would help TeamSpeak Systems to earn more money, because the count of cracked licensed servers will go down.

I fully agree. Simply beacuse an AAL owner is not necessarily a "Licensed hosting provider".

Wasn't it TeamSpeak that wanted to fight AAL abuse for hosting?

It's important because AAL can't sell servers! but ATHP can and no one don't know it is real provider ATHP or AAL.

@dante696: Are there any news regarding this topic?

I believe, we've mentioned a lot of different and important information, why it should be changed.

Currently, the TeamSpeak Client simply does not know the difference between commercial licenses. We're in the process of revamping our accounting system. I can't give you an ETA, but having custom license types is part of it.
