Specific group required to join specific channel

Hello guys, I would like to ask you if there is a way how to set channel permissions so you can join it only if you have the required group. I mean we have like 30 channels on our TS3 server and I have two groups with two different permissions set. I have one channel where I need to set permissions so only a user with this specific group which will be able to join this channel and the other group will not be able to join that channel even though it will have required permissions (join power, but not required group). I mean there are group IDs and such stuff but I did not find any way how to set channel permissions so the group ID is required to join this channel. I guess it might be possible using i_channel_needed_join_power (for user) and i_channel_join_power (for channel). I dunno, I hope someone has already figured this out and will be able and willing to help me. Thanks for all answers and solutions.

there is a way to accomplish that.

For that take a high permission power channel with corrosponding Channel Groups.
For that you need to disable the
    b_client_skip_channelgroup_permissions
    in the other groups.

I dont know if there is a need to play with the Negate flag there but it should be going this way.

But I need to do this for server groups. I mean I have two server groups where one of them will have higher i_channel_join_power and I need to set one channel so this group cannot access it and the other one with lower i_channel_join_power can get there.

Let me show you how I need this groups to work.

    I have two groups - Team (i_channel_join_power = 55) and Clan (i_channel_join_power = 60)

I have 30 channels for Clan group and one for Team group

I need to know how to set permissions for Team room so Clan group cannot get there

I have already set i_channel_needed_join_power so Team group cannot join these 30 channels for Clan

I guess TS cannot do such advanced permission system yet but maybe you have some kind of gimmick.

As mentioned before it's very well possible to do this, you just have to use the correct tools for the correct situation. You wouldn't attempt to use a huge drill bit to drill a tiny hole either.

Server groups by definition (and as the name suggest) provide permissions server wide (ie. across all channels). You however want to limit the permissions on a single channel (or a set of channels) as such a tool that works server wide is not going to work. You will have to use channel groups as they provide permissions on channel level.
Simply create a channel group that grants access to the channel, and give that channel group to those people in the channel(s) that those people should be able to join, remove the join power from the server groups that should not be able to go into all the channels and you're pretty much set.

Yea, I did not get it for the first time. I already made a channel group with higher join power than server group so people with this channel group can join this single channel and no other but also the other server group has too low join power to join this channel. Thanks for the help guys.

NEED of a server group to join a specific channel.

Hi! So I was wondering.. I have a couple of gaming channels. And I also have server groups to indicate what games every user is playing.. And I thought that if you have a CSGO server group you can join one of the 3 CSGO gaming channels, but if you don't have a server group for H1Z1 you can't join any of the 3 H1Z1 gaming channels.. Is this possible? I hope so because I really thought it was a pretty good idea :3

Group transferred to a specific channel

    Hello,

These is my first post (and sorry for my English) here. I searched but couldn't find. Is there a possibility for automatic move certain groups' user to specific channel after they login to server?? I need these to Prison channel, that they don't stick in lobby. And i don't want to use bot. I search in permission system (i have advanced on) and maybe i'm just blind but i don't see something like that.

Needing a specific group to join a specific channel?

I'm having a bit of trouble getting this done for my teamspeak. I think the topic already explains my problem but let me get abit more in depth of my situation.

I have 4 vip groups for my teamspeak, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Also I have 1 vip channel. I want it set to where you need any of those 4 vip groups in order to join the vip channel without having to add a password to it.
Is there any way to do this? Thanks for the help!

You can check out this tutorial for how to make group-specific channels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkAy...cYBWqb&index=5

By using server groups, you limit yourself since they could get into every other channel at or lower than their power. But if you follow that video you will find out how granular you can make your channel security. If you are new to permissions you will find that whole playlist highly useful.

Not much details about your channel or group setup????
Set i_channel_join_power to the group and i_channel_needed_join_power to traget channel.

No, server group and channel groups have nothing to do with each other.
Use the permissions you need in the server group then.
