    No sound when speaking

Hello guys i am new to teamspeak and i have stereo headset with a mic (at least i think its a mic, its quite far from my mouth though) and i have tried testing my voice in the windows xp sound settings thingy, but it said it could not detect any sound. I can't hear anyone in teamspeak and no one can hear me even though i have mic enabled. How do i fix this?
