Can not Hide users in Channel

I am trying to restrict random visitors from seeing who is in one of our channels, while allowing our members to see people in the channel.

I have set all of the following permissions to 50:

    Channel Permissions (for channel "A")

    i_channel_needed_join_power
    i_channel_needed_subscribe_power
    i_channel_needed_description_view_power

    Server Groups (for group "Members")

    i_channel_join_power
    i_channel_subscribe_power
    i_channel_description_view_power

But people in Server Group "Members" cannot see anyone in channel "A".

Admins can see people in the group. And if I set the above Channel Permissions to 10, then "Members" can see people in the channel (setting it to 40 doesnt help).

Everything I read says it should work, so there must be something I am missing. Can anyone help?

    FYI:
"Subscribe All" button is toggled on.
    i_channel_max_depth (-1 for group "Members")
    i_client_max_channel_subscriptions (-1 for group "Members")

Keep in mind that teamspeak evaluates many parameters to determine the permissons a client has in a channel. There is more than just the server group... there are client permissions, channel groups, client-channel permissions, and so on. The most likely thing is the some other permissions setting overwrites your channel group. So you need to check the complete collections of all permissions applied to the client in question, not just ONE server group.

There do not appear to be any client permissions or client-channel permissions.

All permissions stack right? If a user has rights in different places, say 10, 25 and 50, his rights are 50, yes?

    What would override i_channel_subscribe_power ?

No, not that simple... if the permission 10 is in a relevant channel_group and the permission 50 is in a server_group, the user will have 10 in effect because a channel_group is more specific and there for higher in tier.

You might want to read the permissions guide. It's in the install directory of your server, located at.. doc/permissiondoc.txt

I did not realize that. The only relevant channel group is the default channel group, which has i_channel_subscribe_power 10. So, that may be part of the problem. I have skimmed the guide, but obviously I should read the whole thing.

    Thank you for your help.

Yes, the Default Channel Group was overriding the Server Groups. Thanks again for your help.

And the Permissions Guide is only 5 pages, I highly recommend everyone read it through.
