    [RELEASE][UPDATED 10/8/15] SIMPLEX - Designed to be simple - Custom Icons and Skin!

    DOWNLOAD AT BOTTOM OF POST

    PREVIEW

    Name:  Simplex heading.png
Views: 44603
Size:  14.6 KB

    Welcome to SIMPLEX

    SIMPLEX is a skin I have been working on for a LONG time now doing a little bit every once and awhile, but it's finally (somewhat) finished!

    Now I must mention that there will probably be some issues with this skin, since A - This is my first and B - I don't own a server so I am unable to test some menus (eg: ban list, server log etc).

    So if when using the skin you come across a colour that you think shouldn't be there please let me know the following:

    WHERE it is
    HOW I get to that menu/screen
    WHAT skin you're using

    So I can fix the problem with hopefully little to no issues.

    At the moment there are only 3 different accent colours available: Red, Blue and Green, with a main background colour of either black or white.

    THIS SKIN IS NOT FINISHED. Although it may look finished this is only an early release to see if it's worth continuing depending on how the community thinks the skin looks. There are still a few icons that need changing for the other colour packs (other than green) and some I'm just not happy with and will change when I get time.

    HUUUUGE THANKS TO:

    TeamSpeak
    For well... TeamSpeak.

    Adante
    For making a reasonably easy to use ".Qss" stylesheet to style TS3.

    HEdesign
    For creating a UI for TS3 in Photoshop which inspired the design and look for this skin

    Do you mean a darker white/grey or more like a black theme?

    Problem is with a black theme currently is the chat looks messy and somewhat difficult to see links:
    http://prntscr.com/5xluzm

    I can change a few colours within the chat box but the only method I know requires me to be editing the main teamspeak files, meaning you would have to make backups of the original and replace them if you ever wanted to go to a white theme, which just removes the whole idea of the skin being simple to use.

    Actually, you can change pretty much everything in the chat area nowadays, see default_chat.qss for the default example.

    Code:
    /*
     * TeamSpeak 3 Default Qt StyleSheet
     * Special file for ChatLog, loaded in addition to global default.qss stylesheet
     *
     * Copyright (c) TeamSpeak Systems GmbH
     *
     * Supported HTML Subset:
     *
     * TeamSpeak 3's text chat is able to display rich text, specified using a very limited subset of HTML 4 markup.
     * Please refer to this page for more information:
     *
     *  http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/richtext-html-subset.html#css-properties
     *
     * ===
     * === Chat Message Syntax Example:
     * ===
     *
     *  <p class="{PRIMARY_CLASS}">
     *    <span class="Body">
     *      <img src="...">
     *      <span class="{SECONDARY_CLASS}">...</span>
     *      <a class="{SECONDARY_CLASS}" href="...">...</a>:
     *      <spanclass="{SECONDARY_CLASS}">
     *        ...
     *      </span>
     *  </p>
     *
     * ===
     * === Primary Classes:
     * ===
     *
     *  - TextMessage_Normal                   :: informational message
     *  - TextMessage_Welcome                  :: server welcome message

     *  - TextMessage_EndHistory               :: end of a session
     *
     * The TextMessage_Message class can be used in combination with additional classes to identify specific messages.
     * Currently, we provide the following:
     *
     *  - Incoming                             :: incoming text messages
     *  - Outgoing                             :: outgoing text messages
     * - Friend :: text messages sent by friends
     * - Blocked :: text messages sent by blocked users
     * - Private :: text messages in a private chat tab
     *  - Public                               :: text messages in a channel/server chat tab
     *
     * The CSS definition for a private text message sent by a friend would look like this:
     *
     *  .TextMessage_Message.Friend.Private { ... }
     *
     * ===
     * === Secondary Classes (used within messages):
     * ===
     *
     *  - TextMessage_UserLink                 :: user nickname
     *  - TextMessage_ChannelLink              :: channel name
     *  - TextMessage_ServerLink               :: server name
     *  - TextMessage_OfflineLink              :: offline unread message(s) count
     *  - TextMessage_Time                     :: message time
     *  - TextMessage_Text                     :: message text
     */
    to change any link you should be able to use
    Code:
    .TextMessage_Message > a { color: white; text-decoration: underline; }

    Yeah I did have a poke around in there but I couldn't find a way to make a whole new default_chat.qss so it wouldn't overwrite the original, because if it does then when changing from my light theme to my (hopefully soon to come) dark theme you would have white coloured links when the background is white, which we all know would not work =s

    There is no need to overwrite anything, in fact you'd have to name it differently.

    If your main qss file is called say 'simplex-black.qss' the corresponding chat file would have to be named 'simplex-black_chat.qss', if the main name is 'steamskin.qss' the chat file would be 'steamskin_chat.qss'. I trust you see the pattern there.

    More like black theme ... I spend the night on the TS several hours until the white burns my eyes ...

    Sorry for late reply, I have problems accessing teamspeak.com at my home computer, the redirect DDoS protection just loops me through the redirect stage infinitely, even on my mobile (Currently using PC at school). Is this a known issue?

    Anyway, yes I see what you're saying, and will see if I can change this up when I have time, thank you.

    I would like too but as said above, it isn't the easiest thing to get onto this website due to the DDoS protection thing, but I will try!

    Just found your theme and tried it out and am very pleased with the design and simplicity. I'm using the green & black style. It works very well during the night when a white theme would strain your eyes. One problem I had but was able to fix with a minor look into the files. The name of the chat file was "Simplex-GreenBlack_Chat.qss". This caused the chat settings not to work but I changed the 'C' in chat to lowercase and it now works. Thought I should let you know so you could make it easier on future users. Thank you for this theme.

    Thank you for the kind words!

    The thing about the chat file:
    If you go into the TeamSpeak settings and change the theme (from a white theme to a black theme for example) the chat will only be the changed for any new messages posted OR until TeamSpeak is restarted (Which will change the settings/colours of logged messages). So I'm assuming you changed to a black theme then realized the issue with the chat, EXITED TS, changed the capital 'C' to lowercase then RELAUNCHED.

    But thanks for the concern for other users. Be sure to recommend it to others! That's the reason I made it after all!
