Teamspeak disappears when I try to connect to a friend's Teamspeak server

I've installed the client, and I can connect to a public Teamspeak server, but when I try to connect to a friend's server, it looks like the client is connecting, but then the whole thing just disappears (no processes left running or error messages pop up).

    Please help!

    Here's the logfile:

This isn't reproducable for us. Are you the only one with that problem?

Can you send me your config file (settings.db) in a private message?

Config can be stored at folling locations on your hard drive
    Code:
    %appdata%\TS3Client

    C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamSpeak 3 Client\config
    C:\Program Files\TeamSpeak 3 Client\config
When sending me private messages: Please make sure to include reference link to your forum thread or post.

I'm the only one I know of who has the problem. I would be more than happy to send you my settings.db, but I can't find where I can add an attachment. I'll link a dropbox link in a private message.

Good to hear I'm not the only one with the problem! Without any error messages etc, this one is a frustrating one. Hopefully Dante can find something with the file I sent him.

My settings.db was located under (Drive letter):\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\TS3Clien t\

No idea why that last post has a space between the n and t in Client. I even hit edit but there is no space when I'm looking at my unposted words.

We could not reproduce the crash with your databse. Sorry

We can't explain what is happening if there is 1. Nothing in the logs or 2. No error message at all.
Maybe you both use same Hardware (soundcard, network card, mainboard?) or Firewall/Antivirus/Spyaware Software?

    Yeah, I've tried:
    32 bit version
    64 bit version
    previous build 32/64 bit versions
turning firewall completely off (normal windows firewall)
    turning off Malwarebytes anti-malware software
and pretty much every combination of the above. Like Akogare, I can connect just fine to some servers, and other servers (and unfortunately the ONE and only server I would like to connect to) the whole program/process just completely disappears with no trace, no error message, it's just gone.
I've even gone into the Windows Event Viewer program to see if there's any error messages in the application log, but there's nothing there either.

Guess I'll just go back to Ventrilo.

    Yeah, I'm using Windows 7 64bit Ultimate SP1.

My solution now is to log into the server on Android and just use my phone to chat while playing the game.

I am having this exact same issue:

    Client 64-bit 3.0.16
    Windows 8.1
When I try to connect to most servers, TS3 just disappears (shuts down or crashes) then when I relaunch and connect to same
server it says duplicate identity ..
there is obviously something wrong... no firewalls or anything.. I am in Canada

    Hi there Welcome2,

thats exactly what happens here (austria if I didnt mention it before). Someone suggested I try it on Windows 7 but it seems like thats not the cause, when TheWalt has the same probs using Windows 7

Unfortunately I dont have a phone capable to do what you are doing. Would be nice if this problem could be solved and has a solution even for my old computer. For the moment I have kinda given up or put it on hold, as its not that important, but still it would be really nice.

    Hey!

-I went to the the program folder and rename it, then launched the "ts3client_win64.exe" and had " unable to write to config folder blah blah blah....

-I clicked ignore and typed the address in connect and was able to connect to any server.

seems like there is a permissions issue... that's the only way i have been able to get it to work. ???

I must add this *** if you right click and run as administrator or have before or change permissions, the above will not work , (it will just crash again) you will have to remove and re-install completely and rename install folder....

I Hope this helps a few people... and I hope TS too, it would be nice if you guys could help with this, it's not a network issue or anything on our end,

also ,,,, I am also using a different drive letter.... Idk if this is the same for you Ako? but I do not use default C: drive letter

This issue is both weird and annoying

For people with this issue, try the following. Don't forget to post results :-). This is example for Windows7 install:
    Name: TS3Client-win7appData.png
Views: 784
Size: 17.3 KB

    Close your teamspeak3 client.
First make a backup by zipping or 7zip the TS3Client folder you see on above picture. Make sure to save that backup outside this folder.
Let's try do minimal loss of your configuration of teamspeak3 client. For that delete: cache chats logs urls.db
Try if your client behaves better. If it still has same issues...

    Close your teamspeak3 client.
You can almost entirely delete your configuration of your teamspeak3 client by deleting: everything except ts3clientui_qt.secrets.conf file.

This should work also in case you use different disk letters. For WindowsXP situation is similar, just the path to the directory is different. Wild guess: c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAMEHERE\Local Settings or Application Data\TS3Client

Sounds great. There is definitely only one netbook in the world running only one operating system on the world. Oh and of course only single version of teamspeak3 and single possible server everyone use. Everyone knows what you mean....in your dreams.
Perhaps you want to rephrase what is your netbook and what is on it first.

Regarding solutions: If you didn't try any(no mention of any), none of them helped for sure.

    and lastly

Whenever i try to connect a server on ts3 it immediately closes itself and disappears. I recently formatted my computer with windows xp. I installed all the drivers correctly. Am i missing a program or something? My xp is service pack 3 is that the issue? Helps are appreciated.
