    [Suggestion] Chat Emoticons

Hey, I was just going to add a suggestion to add custom chat emoticons, since there is already chat emotes already. Seeing custom emotes in chat logs would be really fun for communities and will make TeamSpeak a lot more fun and add a lot more customization to TeamSpeak.

    That's already possible.

Just add them to the emoticons folder and targets to the emoticons.txt.
Then send the emoticons to your buddys.

Wouldn't it be much easier if it was server side?

Maybe, but server side icons, sounds, themes are not possible and will not happen.

Where is it documented? I wasn't so lucky to find emoticons.txt file. Perhaps I overlooked it.
emoticon search in knowledgebase shows nothing.

Let's assume I configured custom emoticons. I will see it in modified client.
But if the receiver didn't modified his client same way he will see it in text form right?

Really? Why is there created structure like:
    Code:
    files/icons
    files/virtualserver_1/icons
    files/virtualserver_1/channel_1
Yea I know it doesn't work. I tried. But being able to provide more pre-installed icons that couldn't be deleted from inside virtualserver is what I am missing.
Because that part in permissions is missing granularity.... You either let people put icons and stuff with consequence of them deleting group icons...

    ----------------Topic----------------
The reciever will always see what you have set in your emoticons.txt.
    - He will see text if his emoticons differ or are not availbale
    - He will see emoticons when he does use the same icons

Th path for this was always the same since first release.
    Code:
    \TeamSpeak 3 Client\gfx\<selected folder or zip>\emoticons\emoticons.txt
    \TeamSpeak 3 Client\gfx\<selected folder or zip>\emoticons\icon_custom.png
    ----------------Off-topic----------------

    Really? -> Yes!
"Why is there created structure like:"
files/icons -> Does not exist, but files\internal\icons would be for virtual servers.
files/virtualserver_1/icons -> Icons for Groups, Channels and Server , but has nothing to do with chat at all
files/virtualserver_1/channel_1 -> files stored in channel with id1 on virtual server id1

    Edit:
This is outdated, such folder do not exist on new server.
files/icons -> Does not exist, but files\internal\icons would be for virtual servers.

    Emoji Support in chat.

    Hey guys,

Open up your TS3. Look at the chat box. Directly to the right of this you'll see a smiley button. It has but 4 lonely smileys that are not that nice. Why not put the entire emoji set inside here? It would be a fun way to add expression to the people who are in Teamspeak who can not use their microphones or just anyone who's typing in general!

    Would this be possible?

    Thanks!
