How to hide people inside a channel?

    Hello guys.

I've created a channel and I want to hide the users inside it. The channel permission i_channel_needed_subscribe_power is set to 74 and normal users have got the subscribe power set to 50... so they shouldn't see the users inside... but they do.

    Why? Help!

There could be client side cache for subscribed channels.
This improves after everyone reconnects. So give it a little time.

Therefore permissions are enforced. But as long as there is cache for old permission set with active connection,.... that occurs.

Did you created channel before, and then just modified needed_subscribe_power afterwards? Or you created new channel with needed_subscribe_power high enough?

I created the channel at first, and only THEN I modified the parameter of the permission

Right click that channel and press "Channel Permissions" and see if you have mistakenly given Subscribe power as well as the needed subscribe power. Typically, you do not want a channel to have an actual subscribe power unless you are doing more advanced permission techniques and understand the purpose behind it. If you remove any "Subscribe power" permissions from the channel(s) and check the channel group and server group's subscribe power, you should get it locked down.

Other option is permission overview output of person that
    - is in that channel and
    - person who isn't but is able to see who is in that channel
is what I would start with. Make sure to enable filter "subscribe" and post output/picture of those two.

If you are still facing problem with this issue even after inspecting suggestions above, PM me server address and nickname you use on that server.

I just needed to restart the server and then every change to the permissions worked!

To hide a person in a channel.....
    Right click on the channel
    click edit channel
    click permissions tab
change subscribe power to "75"(normal admin power) or "more subscribe power than all other user groups"

    then

either move the people you want to hide to that channel
    or
give them the needed "join powers" to enter the channel

This will not work, when the channel is already subscribed from users.
