    Windows Server 2008 Autostart

I honestly will admit I don't know much about TS administration, but I have my TS3 server app running on Windows Server 2008 R2. Every Saturday at 6 AM is our weekly outage for any patching. Anyways after we do patching, the VM gets rebooted, however after the box is back up, it appears that TS3 does not autostart. If I remotely login, it will start automatically from the 'Startup Program group', and I can manually start the thing just fine, but obviously I don't want to have to login every weekend to restart the thing after a reboot.

So I tried to create a service that would autostart:

    sc create TS3_Server binpath= C:\teamspeak3-server_win64\ts3server_win64.exe start= auto type= own displayname= TS3_Server
    [SC] DeleteService SUCCESS

Then I go into sevices.msc, I see the service there, and I right click->Start, but I get a 1053 error every time about the service not starting in a timely fashion.

    Any ideas?

Right click on the TS3 server exe
    send to
    desktop (create shortcut)
    right click on the shortcut
    cut

This is where I'm not sure about server 2008......

    click start
    click all programs
    right click startup
    open
right click in some space and paste

TS3 server should start on every boot
    It does with my win7

Or have you done this already and it doesn't start?

With RunasSrvce Just remember if you don't run the program with admin permissions it wont' install the service.

Just make sure to check the service to make sure it's set to automatic and not manual. If it's set to manual, it won't start at boot.

How could that help starting program ON SERVER? There's no logged-in user, and "Startup" is only executed when a user logs in.

Has nothing to do with specific version.
It could be a linux server all along. Point is, you suggested an autostart in a user session, and you full well knew it would just not work.
