    Problem with .ini configuration

    So my cousin setup our original Teamspeak server, it's currently working on a Windows 2008 machine using MySQL. I think he upgraded to MySQL from SQLite....never mind it doesn't mater. Here's the meat of the problem.

    I am currently migrating the 2008 old Dell server to a new VMWare hosted box. I have installed Windows 2012 as we're going to be hosting more than just Teamspeak on it. (games like terraria, 7 days to die, ark, crap like that)

    I have copied over all files from the old Teamspeak to the new Teamspeak folder and edited the ts3server.ini and ts3db_mysql.ini files correctly. I have installed MySQL (same version 5.6) and imported the database, I have properly connected to the database using a basic Script I created. I created the same usename for the database we have on the old server. At this point everything I can find is identical configuration wise. (except hostname and IP of course)

    Now for the problem.

    When I launch the ts3server_win64.exe I can connect to the teamspeak server, but the database doesn't load.

    I have posted the startup log in the logs folder on what happens when I run the .exe natively.

    You can see there that the plugin is SQLite. No database loads. I know for a fact the database is working, and here's why.

    I have created a shortcut that has these parameters in it.

    C:\Teamspeak\ts3server_win64.exe dbplugin=ts3db_mysql dbsqlpath=sql/ dbsqlcreatepath=create_mysql/

    When I run the teamspeak server the database loads, everything works.

    Below is the ts3db_mysql.ini file.

    [config]
    host=localhost
    port=3306
    username=TS
    password=password
    database=ts3

    And here is the ts3server.ini file

    machine_id=
    voice_ip=192.168.168.202
    default_voice_port=9988
    licensepath=
    filetransfer_port=30033
    query_port=10011
    query_ip=192.168.168.202
    query_ip_whitelist=query_ip_whitelist.txt
    query_ip_blacklist=query_ip_blacklist.txt
    dbplugin=ts3db_mysql
    dbpluginparameter=
    dbsqlpath=sql/
    dbsqlcreatepath=create_mysql/
    logpath=logs
    logquerycommands=1

    These settings in these ini's are identical for both servers with the exception of the IP (just FYI). So how do I start this server and have it read the ini file? Any help would be appreciated as I've been trying to figure this out the last 2 days and can't find anything in the forums regarding this.

    Thanks in advance.

    you actually have to tell the server to load the ini file in the first place. Create a shortcut and edit its properties and at the end of the target line add
    Code:
    inifile=ts3server.ini
    replace the filename with your file name. Then start the server using that shortcut.

    Please note though that your ini lists private IP addresses as the IP address to use. The server will fail to start unless a network adapter in the machine has that exact IP address. You'll also need port forwarding to connect to this server from the outside.
