Lightbulb Features for the permission system

    Hey guys,

today I have some ideas, don't know how you like it.

    Server Group Permissions

    - i_group_max_servergroups (you can enter how much server groups a user can have)

    Channel Group Permissions

    - b_channel_create_with_max_subchannel (you can enter how much sub channel a user can create e.g. "b_channel_create_with_max_subchannel 2" the user can create 2 sub channel and not more)

Like to hear about your feedback

I'm note sure if I like the first one. I know servers with tons of server groups, but it's usually the admins. If you want to limit the number of server groups, there should be a b_servergroup_limit_ignore permission so you can have a limited number of "informative groups" (like classes in a game) and an unlimited number of "essential" groups like server admins.
The second permission make sense to me but it can't be boolean as you suggested. It must be an integer.

Something like the 2nd was already suggested and rejected.
Me thinks Dante has explained why, i. e. there is no "owner" flag for the channel, so the server does not know who created which channels.
Besides, limiting the amount of (sub-)channels that can be created makes only sense on "public" servers and you can use temporary/semi-permanent channels for this.

I didn't read the "a user" thing in the request. How about dropping this anyway?

For the second, already possible with i_channel_max_depth.

That's the depth, not the amount, isn't it?

Maybe I misunderstood his request then. I'm not aware off the top of my head of any max channel created permission. Not sure the database even tracks the creator in a way that could support such a permission at this time.

Likely they will say this is a social issue that you need to discuss with your user base or consider who you allow to create channels. Only allowing them to create temp channels and may help so that if any previous channel becomes empty it is auto deleted.

My proposal was a permission that only allows to create a subchannel in channels that not yet have x subchannels.
