A friend echos us, when we talk

Asking for a friend who has had this issue for a while..........

Basically when they speak it's all fine but when we speak we hear ourselves coming from them.

They either use speakers instead of headphones, or have headphones real loud (both simply accoustical echo) or have a crosstalk problem (rather common with headsets).

    They can try playback options

    Echo cancellation
won't change their listening experience. Note that I've read an improved algorithm is coming.

    and/or

    Echo suppression
Will lower their speaker output when they speak, hence less echo.

Both options are for the echo causing party, not the echo victims.

Also some soundcards allow to audio inputs at the same card. The second could be the current "what you hear".
This needs to be set in his sound card mixer.

    Maybe he has that too.

Thread title renamed to something usefull!
