Aaand TS3 never had. Because Discord already used the same codec and up to 96kbps.
I post them again, just for good measures (those were made in November 2017, credits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VayvZUL2mBc)

Download them, hear them and tell me the difference. Especially on the gaming cloud mic, that is actually a mic that a few of my friends are using. I literally cannot hear the difference. If you give me the files unlabeled I can not tell what sample belongs to which. And I'm running 200€ Sennheiser headphones.

I really don't get how people can jerk that much about the "superior voice performance" when both are the same.
And even when they are 5% better or whatever. I think nobody on this planet cares if your teammate is 95% clear and crisp or 100%. As long as you hear the callout he made, because.. you know it is still a gaming communication software. For heated gaming moments, where you have ingame sounds and sometimes even ingame voice from random teammates.

Benefits over Discord compared to TeamSpeak

I have used discord for a considerable time period..In my opinion Discord take more time to connect and occasionally lose the connection

TeamSpeak has a much more optimal voice processing.

Discord "features" robotic/glitching voice which can be rather irritating.

This is for the more noticable part. Another important thing is that TeamSpeak5 (in development) has the best noise cancelling so far, they muffle keyboard in such an awesome way (I've ran comparison to Discord - TeamSpeak5 is the clear winner here, no noise at all).

Discord voice Quality is not on par it's not even close to TS I'm a audio engineer them use similar codecs, they are not the same and Discord aka "Myspace with voice 2003" doesn't have HD voice or equivalent. Discord will use more ram when you have it loaded with all the myspace garbage and clients. Kids use discord maybe it's a good fit for you. Discord can't do nearly half with TS can when it comes to communications in squads we know we tried it failed miserably.

I think you need your hearing checked I use sennheiser everything including studio mic and there is a huge difference in audio quality and again they are not the same codec.

As others have mentioned, teamspeak is superior on privacy. If I want to share something that is unpublished, I go for teamspeak. Also the audio is superior; this makes teamspeak my go-to for in-game talking and coordination.

I prefer discord for texting. I also like it because many interesting communities use discord.
